The Infrastructure Architect is responsible for designing, planning, and overseeing the architecture of an organization's IT infrastructure.

They ensure the reliability, performance, security, and scalability of technological infrastructures to meet the operational and strategic needs of the organization.

Working closely with IT teams, software architects, project managers, and stakeholders, the Infrastructure Architect develops robust and scalable infrastructure solutions.

Responsibilities:

Infrastructure Design:
Design robust and scalable IT infrastructure architectures considering operational and strategic business needs.

Needs Analysis:
Analyze IT infrastructure requirements in collaboration with IT teams and stakeholders.

Planning and Implementation:
Participate in planning and implementing IT infrastructure projects as an architecture expert.

Security and Compliance:
Ensure the security and compliance of IT infrastructures by implementing security measures and best practices.

Performance Optimization:
Optimize the performance of IT infrastructures to ensure maximum operational efficiency.

Technology Watch:
Stay updated on technological trends and developments in IT infrastructure to recommend best practices and suitable solutions.

Risk Management:
Identify and mitigate risks related to IT infrastructure architecture and security.

Documentation:
Document infrastructure architectures, design decisions, and configurations to ensure traceability and understanding.

Training and Support:
Provide training and support to IT teams on infrastructure and security best practices.

Required Skills:

Strong skills in designing and architecting IT infrastructures.
Excellent understanding of network, storage, and system design principles.
In-depth knowledge of virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V), cloud computing platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud), and networking technologies (Cisco, Juniper).
Proficiency in IT security protocols (Firewalls, VPN) and best practices for infrastructure security.
Project management skills and ability to work in a multi-project environment.
Strong communication and teamwork skills.
Ability to solve complex problems and make strategic decisions.
Certification in IT architecture (TOGAF, ITIL) or in specific technologies is a plus.

Education and Experience:

Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, or a related field.

Significant professional experience as an infrastructure architect or in a similar role.

Relevant certification in IT architecture or security is advantageous.

The Infrastructure Architect plays a critical role in managing and evolving an organization's IT infrastructures.

As an architecture expert, they are responsible for ensuring that IT infrastructures align with the operational and strategic goals of the organization while ensuring their security, performance, and scalability.
