    Responsibilities

    will include but not be limited to:
  • Lead the development of Health & Safety Leadership & Culture across the Benelux.
  • Implement appropriate group objectives and maintain appropriate KPI's to continually improve PM Group's Health and Safety performance in the Benelux.
  • Report to the Regional Leadership Team and other forums on Health and Safety initiatives, objectives and performance.
  • Implement PM Group's Health, Safety and Wellbeing policy across in the Benelux.
  • Support projects throughout their lifecycle from proposal, through design, procurement, fabrication, construction, commissioning, handover and operational stages.
  • Provide health, safety and wellbeing advice to management and project teams.
  • Assure legal / regulatory compliance with respect to latest occupational safety, health and welfare requirements for the Benelux.
  • Ensure full compliance with local and national Health and Safety legislation pertaining to the project construction phase.
  • Develop project-specific health & safety strategies, programmes and plans in partnership with Group Health and Safety.
  • Co-ordinate construction health and safety programme elements addressing site access, security, project induction, first aid, welfare and emergency arrangements
  • Co-ordinate and manage on-site construction health and safety resources
  • Communicate and co-ordinate the adoption of industry best practices in health and safety on all projects.
  • Establish a process of active health and safety monitoring through audits and inspections of site conditions and contractor activities.
  • Monitor and report on health and safety performance and challenges using predefined leading and lagging health and safety performance indicators.
  • Influence employee work practices through dialogue, relationship building and behavioural safety coaching.
  • Ensure appropriate and effective emergency response, case management, incident investigation and reporting mechanisms are in place to facilitate learning from incidents (LFI).
  • Qualified to support a future ISO 45001 certification process
  • Qualifications

    Qualifications & Experience

  • Primary Degree in Engineering, Science or equivalent. In addition a recognized Diploma in the Occupational Health and Safety preferable.
  • Chartered member of IOSH (Institution of Occupational Safety and Health) or equivalent qualification would be an advantage.
  • An advanced knowledge of health and safety principles with proven technical skills in occupational safety and health disciplines with a minimum 10 years' experience in a related role.
  • Experience and proven capabilities in developing and implementing world class health and safety management systems in a construction projects environment.
  • Experience in developing and implementing behavioral safety programmes.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills; strong influencing and negotiation skills.
  • Excellent collaborative and people skills.
  • Accuracy and attention to detail essential.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Fluent English speaker with a preference for a second language an advantage (Dutch or French).
  • Self-starter and decision maker.
