About GERG:
The European Gas Research Group is a non-profit association, established in 1961 to promote collaborative research between European gas industry companies.
Today the association counts 37 members from 15 countries, for whom it provides a forum for discussion, technological exchange and information dissemination.
The GERG R&D projects focus on four strategic areas:hydrogen, biomethane, methane emissions, and LNG. The projects are initiated by the members or answer a demand from the European Commission.
Based in Brussels, the activities of the association are managed by the team of the GERG Secretariat, who are in contact with representatives of GERG members, partner organisations based in Brussels, and other stakeholders.
Objectives and role:
- Provide administrative support to ensure efficient operation of the office.
- Schedule meetings, organise project meetings and workshops (online through Teams, or hybrid with an audience in person in Brussels)
- Manage administrative documents: invoices, contracts.
- Help make travel arrangements for the team members.
- Keep the document management system updated, support the team in finding the relevant resources.
- Support the updates of websites and social media pages for GERG.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Knowledge of appropriate software including: Microsoft Word, Excel (VBA), Outlook, Microsoft PowerPoint and Adobe Acrobat
- Ability to work with technical documents; interest in the European energy sector and research in areas of hydrogen, biomethane, energy infrastructure
- Fluent in English, knowledge of French is an advantage
- Reporting and drafting skills
- Organised, detailoriented, good time management and prioritisation skills
- Autonomous and responsible, looking to be part of a growing and dynamic team
Qualifications Required:
- Higher education diploma, ideally in Executive & Secretarial Assistance or equivalent
- 2 years of administrative assistant experience, preferably in Belgium and SME / association type of organisation
Main Interfaces:
- GERG Secretary and Secretariat team
- GERG President and Board
- GERG Members representatives (technical experts from member companies)
- GERG partner organisations (Marcogaz, Eurogas, Hydrogen Europe, GIE, IGU...)
