    WHO MAY APPLY?

    EU Nationals and NATO Nationals, excluding the US, who do not need a work permit or who possess an unlimited single permit to work in Belgium.

    Hauptaufgaben

    As an Emergency Management Specialist, you will:

    Provide advice to protect military and civilian personnel.

    Examine and coordinate the development of emergency plans and military support to civil authorities during emergencies resulting, for example, from natural hazards, or acts of terrorism.

    Coordinate actions with the various organizations in the host country.

    Represent installation command, attend conferences and meetings with representatives of federal, regional and provincial agencies.

    Plan and carry out the implementation and operation of crisis management programs as well as their consequences.

    Identify, analyze and make recommendations to resolve problems or situations arising during crisis management planning and their consequences.

    Qualifikationsanforderungen

    AT THE BA 09:

    Applicant must demonstrate at least one year of experience in a closely related field as the position to be filled. To be creditable, experience must have been gained at a level that is equivalent to at least the second lower grade (BA-07).

    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

    - Knowledge of managing crisis and emergency situations.
    - Ability to plan, organize and develop a variety of documents and instructions.
    - Ability to analyze facts, identify problems, report results, draw conclusions and recommend solutions or other appropriate measures to resolve emergency situations.

    SUBSTITUTION OF EDUCATION:

    A Master degree (or equivalent) successfully completed in a related field is qualifying at the BA-09 level (e.g. Master's degree in Business Administration, Management, etc.)

    LANGUAGE REQUIREMENT:

    English: Good command required.

    French: Good command required.

    OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

    Belgian Driving License B

    Ability to obtain and maintain a Government Driving License.

    Travel for business may be required up to 20%

    DESCRIPTION OF THE OFFER:

    - Permanent, full-time (38 hours/week)
    - Regular work schedule (Monday through Friday)

    SALARY:
    - From 4,639.68 EUR gross/month at grade BA-09.

    REFERRAL AND SELECTION PROCEDURE:

    The Civilian Human Resources Service Center (HRSC) will review each application and will refer candidates to the management official who will make the final selection. All qualified applicants will receive consideration for position without regard to political, religious, or labor organization affiliation or non-affiliation, marital status, race, color, sex, national origin, non­disqualifying physical disability, or age.

    The SELECTEE will:

    • Provide an extract of criminal record: "Modele 1". This document may be requested to the local resident registration office.

    • Be subject to a Foreign National Screening administrated by the SHAPE Belgian Police.

    • Pass an English test and a medical evaluation.
