The global operating division Performance Materials with its headquarter at the BASF Belgium Coordination Center bundles BASF's competencies in innovative plastics.

It provides customer-oriented solutions for industries like automotive, construction, packaging, electrics and electronics, sports, footwear, wind and solar energy.

RESPONSIBILITIES
As an EHS Specialist you are part of the EHS Service of the Benelux organization, consisting of 3 people. In this position you are one of the experts for the themes of safety, health and the environment. It is a role for 32 hours a week (80%).

These are your responsibilities:

Acting as prevention advisor for our various locations (Waterloo, Brussels, Gembloux)
Developing, implementing and evaluating the welfare policy, in accordance with the Dynamic Risk Management System referred to in the Wellbeing legislation
Coordinating the activities and obligations as a local point of contact for Belgian government agencies (Valipac, FAMHP, FASFC)
Conducting and supervising EHS inspections and audits in the Benelux sites
You are secretary of the committee for prevention and protection at work and, in your role, actively participate in the consultation on prevention and protection at work
Creating awareness about safety, by organizing workshops and training (eg. Safety Days)
Coordinating the activities and obligations of the emergency organization within the different sites
Be available in case of calamities as a member of the crisis team for Belgium

QUALIFICATIONS

You have a relevant bachelor's or master's degree and you have successfully completed the training to become a prevention advisor level
You are fluently trilingual FR-NLEN and you communicate with ease at different levels within the organization
You have at least 3 years of work experience in a similar position
You have knowledge of ISO14001 and ISO50001 management systems
Additional diplomas in the field of safety science and the environment are a plus
You can set priorities well and know how to switch smoothly between the different parts of this role
