What you will be doing


As
Sourcing Manager you scout for and propose new suppliers and raw materials, build a network into upstream players to have right strategic intelligence and lead purchases/ordering for the Bruges site.

You support direct procurement on Business Line level.

Your detailed Responsibilities:

  • You scout, identify and propose alternative and new raw materials
  • Sourcing of new raw materials in support of R&D and Innovation
  • Reviewing critical raw materials (availability, price,) with R&D and production and scouting the market for alternatives
  • Proactively, and upon joint decision with different stakeholders, scouting for (sustainable) alternatives, and having them tested
  • You realise purchasing administration
  • Daily input of Purchase Orders (PO) in support of the purchasing department
  • Planning and forecasting raw material needs, taking into account market factors (availability, price, capital employed,)
  • You file supplier complaints in coordination with the Purchasing Manager and implement corrective actions
  • You perform supplier evaluation with growing importance of sustainability actions

Who we are looking for

  • You have a Master degree in chemistry or (commercial) engineering
  • You have at least 2 years of relevant work experience. You show interest in industrial processes and technology and you understand products, specs, process capabilities (refining & transformation)
  • You have strong technicalcommercial skills to discuss with suppliers and R&D on product development
  • You are a hardworking, positive and selfmotivated person, able to proactively build a network of contacts inside and outside the company
  • You are a great teammate able to connect the interests of R&D, Production, Sales
  • You are customer oriented, flexible and stress resistant
  • You are proficient in Dutch and English. Knowledge of French and German is an asset.
