Overview:


This role will provide leadership across the Supply Chain (SC) Services Analytics Team and influence across the wider Analytics community, especially Finance and Commercial working closely with Supply Chain, to drive added value through increased visibility and advanced analytics.

The role includes leadership for an Analytics team including Insights, Optimisation, Modelling, Data Science managers plus an offshore support team.

This team is responsible for innovation for the future of DDA deployed successfully in supply chain plus service for business teams.


Job Purpose

As the Director Supply Chain Analytics, you will:

  • Lead, develop and deliver effective Business Insight and Analytics to Supply Chain teams in order to provide end to end supply chain visibility, intelligence and effective decision making across the GSK supply chains.
  • Shape and lead the Data & Analytics strategy (DDA), prioritising innovation demand with business stakeholders and leading business case development for incorporation of advanced technology into analytics solutions to drive strategic outcomes and creation of value in the e2e supply chain (productivity, service, cost, cash, sustainability and compliance).
  • Lead change management and analytical process adoption for all core decision making processes through advanced analytics (including the move to Predictive and Prescriptive models from traditionally Descriptive).
  • Lead, manage and coach onshore and offshore resources as appropriate to deliver ambition. Support capability development within the analytics area including people capability building (e.g. in analytics storytelling, partnering and data science), data driven decision process evolution and systems evolution including Business Insight solutions, modelling and cognitive capability

Key Responsibilities

  • Digital Data & Analytics (DDA) Strategy lead ensuring that strategy supports business ambition and delivers innovative advanced analytics tools for the GSK supply chain.
  • Partner with Therapy and E2E Service teams across Strategy and Planning to deliver effective Analytics and Business Insights to agreed standards and timeframes, building in continuous improvements.
  • Deliver analytics support for the GSK Core Commercial Cycle; deliver recommendations on inventory management and maintain an agility to contribute relevant insights across different Therapy areas, including inventory and revenue uplift opportunities.
  • Manage access to and manipulate large complex data sets enabling unprecedented access to supply chain data, transforming and presenting these in an effective, understandable way across multiple stakeholders at different organisational levels.
  • Partner with Supply Chain teams to deliver end to end value stream mapping; service/ cost and cash optimisation, parameter setting and network design through the use of advanced tools.
  • Lead or contribute to key supply chain projects or Business Intelligence solutions as required. Examples could include integration of performance tracking with other areas; therapy level/site deep dives, deploying new supply chain systems, participating in informal / formal systems testing, and highlighting business continuity risks / issues in a proactive and timely manner.
  • Championing change for Analytics across Supply Chain teams, providing Subject Matter Expertise on tools, systems and data provisioning
  • Ownership for targeted KPIs to monitor and manage supply chain health, taking corrective action and maintaining an agility to adapt KPIs to changing business requirements
  • Manage access to large complex data sets including sensitive financial data, ensuring security of the data are maintained in line with GSK Policies and Code of Conduct.
  • Partnering closely with Tech and Business teams, setting the operating model with effective governance and demand management in line with strategic and value priorities

Why you?

Minimum experience required

  • Broad ranging business experience gained over a number of years at a management level and covering a number of areas/functions.
  • Able to manage multifunctional, broadbased/diverse teams
  • Knowledge of BI technologies; PowerBI visualisation, Tableau, Qlikview etc. in order to develop practical business solutions.
  • Knowledge of Programming as applied to data science (e.g. python)
  • Knowledge of supply chain

Preferred Level of Education

  • Further qualifications in Supply Chain (e.g. APICS professional association for supply
