About GERG:


The European Gas Research Group is a non-profit association, established in 1961 to promote collaborative research between European gas industry companies.

Today the association counts 37 members from 15 countries, for whom it provides a forum for discussion, technological exchange and information dissemination.

The GERG R&D projects focus on four strategic areas:
hydrogen, biomethane, methane emissions, and LNG. The projects are initiated by the members or answer a demand from the European Commission.

GERG is a consortium member in several European-funded projects.

The main role for GERG is to contribute to the Impact Workpackages:

communicating the results of the project to the right stakeholders to ensure the information generated by this public-funded research is as useful as possible, and that the project team has access to feedback from the expert community to support their work.


Current projects of that type include THyGA (Testing Hydrogen admixture for Gas Applications), Met4H2 (Metrology for the Hydrogen Supply Chain), MetCCUS (Metrology Support for Carbon Capture Utilisation and Storage), BiometCAP (Biomethane Conformity Assessment Protocols), and more projects to be announced soon.


Objectives and role:


  • Project management of GERG involvement in Europeanfunded projects: planning tasks in accordance with the project Grant Agreement, keeping track of deliverables and deadlines.
  • In contact with the respective Project Coordinators, deliver the tasks assigned to GERG within each project: producing the Communication and dissemination plan, maintaining social media presence for the projects, updating the website information, producing newsletters, organising workshops, creating communication materials aimed at various audiences (adapted levels of technical detail).
  • Participate and present in project meetings and provide updates to the project team.
  • Keep track of resources and budget allocated and spent by each project.
  • Monitor the published deliverables and advances of other members of the project to be able to suggest relevant communication actions / links to stakeholders.
  • Coordinate with the GERG Secretariat team and support the organisation of GERG Working Groups

Knowledge, Experience & Technical Know How:

  • Technical and scientific knowledge related to the energy system, ideally relating to gas
  • An interest in policy related aspects of energy and communication of benefits of research
  • Good project management ability, planning and allocating time to tasks
  • Excellent communication skills, attention to detail
  • Proficiency in Office tools, Word, PowerPoint, Excel
  • Fluent in English, good drafting ability
  • Interest in the European funding programs with international research teams. A previous experience in managing energy R&D projects would be an asset
  • Strongly selfmotivated with an ability to work with mínimal direct guidance

Qualifications Required:

Master's level or equivalent, good knowledge of the energy system.

Strong project management and communication skills.
