    Head of Project Controls.

Project Controls - the team you lead, manage, coach & assist in their processes and way of working


This team is responsible for controlling the cost, planning and risk of the projects, and provide a framework on project management and performance measurement to the different projects within the Offshore division.

They work in close collaboration with the Projects and Operations teams in order to successfully deliver the projects.


You assist/support the project managers in the implementation of projects when it comes to cost control, planning, risk management, project management and performance measurement techniques.

cost control
- you guide and optimize the process of cost control together with the Cost Control team to be able to follow up on progress reporting and on the costs for the different projects as to keep them valuable
- you make sure the ETC budget is reliable at all times
- as a manager, you take the lead in the transition of the Cost Control department based on a professional PMI related PMO model
- you implement effective forecasting tools and develop tools allowing to improve identification of discrepancies and variations

planning
- in this key process to make sure projects are executed in a good & efficient way, you guide and optimize the process of planning the different projects. You keep a helicopter view on all projects and confirm the planning is reliable and has the right links over the different projects
- you develop a global resource plan to support overall division planning activities
- you are the liaison between the project managers, Operations and the Planning team

risk management
- you support the Risk Management department in order to oversee the organization's risk management program. This assesses and identifies risks that could impede the reputation, safety, security, technical or financial success of the organization
- you ensure a good collaboration with Tendering, Procurement & project managers to work proactively on possible risks
- you provide support and guidance to the project managers to maintain a consistent and efficient project management approach

PMO performance management
- you develop an efficient and effective administration of the projects, including procedures, time schedules, ratios, budgets, information systems, billing, reporting,
- you implement modern tools (AI based) to measure the performance of the projects and division


In this function your contacts range from your internal Equans colleagues (project managers, Tender-, Engineering-, Procurement-, Construction teams) to clients, external partners and suppliers.

Your strong communication skills enable you to effectively interact with all of them.

Find out what else you need to successfully lead the Project Controls team:

  • technical background (engineering) or equivalent by proven experience
- minimum 10 years of experience demonstrated in a leading Project Controls role
- demonstrated knowledge on setting up and organizing an effective and performing controls and reporting process within a project driven organization
- ability to gather and summarize information from various sources
- quality oriented attitude - high quality of data selection and reporting is key to this position
- capacity to let deadlines, and the pressure they imply, stimulate you and your business delivery oriented mind
- good reporting capabilities with strong presentation skills
- excellent communication skills in English, additional fluency in French and/or Dutch is preferred
