European Federation of Allergy and Airways Diseases Patients' Associations is looking for a full time (38h/week)
Junior Communications Officer to start as soon as possible (one year contract)

EFA is a vibrant alliance of European patients' organisations representing people with allergy, asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) at European level.
EFA is dedicated to making Europe a place where people living with these diseases have access to best quality care, live uncompromised lives in a safe environment, and are actively involved in all decisions influencing their health.
EFA work pillars are INFORM | PREVENT | CARE.As EFA Junior Communications Officer you will be
digitally campaigning on European policy debates to ensure that the needs of people with allergy, asthma and COPD are at the heart of policy decisions.
You will also be
supporting EFA projects'
communication such as the European Parliament Interest Group on Allergy and Asthma (INFORM); the BREATHE Vision for 2030 (PREVENT); and World Atopic Eczema Day (CARE).
Through communications, you will help connect allergy, asthma and COPD patients, via our member associations, to EU health and prevention policy.
You will join a strong
communications team of Policy and Communications Director, Communications Manager and Digital Developer,
who will embrace your experience and support your professional development.
Your main tasks are:
Support EFA content creation
- Support the ideation and drafting of EFA corporate and membership communication materials, such as news, website articles, press releases and newsletters
- Support the ideation and creating EFA projects communication materials, such as posts and reports
- Support in the communication and mobilisation around international days, such as World Asthma Day, World COPD Day and World Atopic Eczema Day
- Draft presentations and speeches for colleagues and board members
- Support EFA's visual identity and corporate branding across tools
Support EFA_Patients digital and physical presence
- Use EFA's Twitter, LinkedIn, Facebook and YouTube channels proposing narratives and campaigns, timelines and followerbase development
- Maintain EFA's website and projectaffiliated websites such as BREATHE Vision and the Youth Parliament on Allergy and Asthma
- Support in the evaluation of EFA's communications
Essential:
- Proficiency use of the English language, written and orally
- proven experience in drafting of publications, articles, newsletters, brochures (ideally basic knowledge in working with external providers i.e. designer, printer, events agencies, etc.)
- knowledge of CMS, good command of communication tools (e.g. Canva, Adobe, Mailchimp) and high computer literacy
- basic knowledge of press work and PR on EU and national level
- ability to analyse and translate information on a range of issues including healthcare, environment and research to diverse audiences
- willingness to work in a small and highly motivated international team with a strong "can do" attitude
- availability for occasional travel
Desirable:
- interest in health policy, representing patients and advocating for their needs at EU and European level
- volunteering experience or in the NGO field
- experience and/or good understanding of processes in and set-up of European institutions and EU-level policy making
- strong social media skills
- proven experience in creating digital audiovisual content such as GIFs and slideshows, video, podcast
- fluency in several EFA languages
