What we're looking for?
As a hands-on Shipping Leader you are responsible for the daily operational management of the BuzziSpace Shipping team, working closely with the Supply Chain & Warehouse Leader:

• You will ensure the most efficient staffing and coordinate the daily activities as efficiently as possible in order to respond to changing circumstances.
• You know how to motivate others through your strong communication and coaching skills.
• It's in your nature to create a good working atmosphere in which continuous improvement and cooperation are key.
• You keep your finger on the pulse on the floor and support your direct reports. To do so, you conduct regular performance and evaluation meetings with them (facilitated by our BuzziSpace performance management system).
• You are responsible for the deployment of temporary workers.

What you'll do here?

• Working out a longterm strategy for shipping in which you are strongly committed to the digitization and automation of the various business processes within shipping and translating these into concrete objectives. In addition, you roll out and implement the strategy.
• Creating and managing the annual budget. In doing so, you monitor productivity and costs and you analyze and interpret the KPIs. You also monitor the various investments within the shipping department.
• Initiating, coordinating or participating in improvement projects in the areas of quality | safety | efficiency.
• Ensuring that you and your team comply with the procedures relating to safety, quality and order and cleanliness.
• Being responsible for the xdock activities.
• Analyzing and recording of complaints.
• Negotiate tariffs with existing and new 3PL based on the various required service levels;
• Being in close contact with the 3PL | shipping companies.
• Having performance meetings with 3PL to discuss the quality, possible claims and to ensure that the in advance agreed service level is achieved.
• Development of shipping skills of the shipping coordinators in matters as shipping regulations and customs regulations.

• You hold a master's degree and you already have experience in a leading role within an international logistics environment.
• You have experience in road, sea and air transport and an affinity with customs.
• You are a people manager pur sang, you know how to motivate others.
• You are dynamic and resultoriented: you take initiative and respond proactively to challenges.
• You have strong analytical skills and know how to substantiate your feelings with facts and reports.
• You have a good understanding of logistics processes. You know how to prioritize and maintain an overview.
• You have experience with implementing ERP systems
• You know how to express yourself fluently in English and Dutch.
• You get energized by looking after safety | costs | audits | IT | compliance | etc.
