The Meat Buyer is a key person in the production of our high quality cooked hams and dry sausages, for 6 production sites in the Benelux.

WHAT DOES A MEAT BUYER DO?

On a weekly basis, you track the evolution of the market and negotiate spot prices for short term deliveries.
Identifying the needs of the production plants, you coordinate purchases for your Business Unit.
Plan, check and followup, the deliveries in the production plants according to the planning.
Negotiate and contract frozen materials on longer term strategic contracts
Negotiate fresh materials, short term contracts, with the best terms, price, coverage, origins, quality, delivery conditions.
Administration and followup of deliveries and agreements. (price, volume, on time delivery, quality etc)
Work in a local team of 3, manage and share responsibilities and look for continues improvement together.

Coordination with other areas

In your job, you will closely work together with R&D, Quality and Marketing departments. Exchanging information to facilitate optimizations and determine threats or opportunities.

Relationship with Suppliers

We like to work on long term relationships with our suppliers, one point of contact to the supplier. In the local team, each is responsible for their own suppliers of which you are the key contact for the group. The suppliers under your responsibility, either if they deliver locally, or in one of the other countries where Campofrio has production plants, will be managed by you.
We work with the best suppliers, according to our high quality standard, optimizing cost according to the market ́s volatility is of high importance.
Supplier visits are done a few times per year.
New supplier development is a continues process.

BU/ Production Plant ́s Meat Procurement Responsible

You guarantee the optimization of the raw material stock.
You negotiate the deliveries with suppliers and manage the logistics from the supplier to the production plant.
You Monitor the deviations of the material purchased and the delivered.

OUR IDEAL MEAT BUYER?

You obtained a Bachelor's or Master's Degree
You can look back on 10 year experience in sourcing within the FMCG sector
Proven negotiating skills
Fluent in English and Dutch and have a very good knowledge of the French language
Likes to travel occasionally in

- and outside of Belgium (+/- 4 times per year)
