A-STAY is the hospitality brand within the BESIX STAY holding. BESIX STAY is a joint venture between BESIX Group and Ben Van Loo, the co-founder of XIOR.

A-STAY Antwerp, with its 190 rooms, opened its doors November 2019, becoming the 6th largest hotel in the city. A-STAY's experience is tech-focused but human first, and aims to unfold each city it is located in.

The Playground (lobby) is a space with a communal spirit, complimented by the large urban garden (tent covered in the colder season) called "The Backyard".

A-STAY believes in total flexibility, offering stayers self-serve options to ease their stay. A first in Europe, access to the room is made based on a palm vein scan at check-in. The modern rooms can be personalized via a web app on stayers' smartphones, adjusting lights, temperature and blinds. A selection of local treats is available at the 24/7 Grabn'Go.

Other experiences include a complete gym, a collaborative meeting space, and long stay necessities such as laundry facilities and a shared kitchen.

A-STAY has ambitions to grow beyond its location in Antwerp.

So what's the job about?
Besides being an enthusiastic, wheeling and dealing, motivated lover of all things sales type of individual, here is what you, as a Junior Sales Manager at A-STAY are like:

  • You enjoy defining a sales strategy for revenue optimization and love the nitty gritty that comes with establishing plans for each major sales account. You know your market, perform market studies and prospection. Creating new and maintaining existing business relationships is your second nature.
  • Generating new leads is not enough for you. You want to negotiate contracts, pitch the concept, and close deals. You collaborate openly with the rest of the team to ensure the related sales channels are properly configured, validated and working.
  • You are fanatic about using and producing monthly reports on sales KPIs including occupancy, ADR, RevPar and ROI, so that your next steps will be taken wisely. You are organized and keep a meticulously updated CRM of all your sales activities.
  • In your role, you report directly to our Chief Operating Officer _(we told you direct impact)_, and collaborate closely with our revenue, marketing and operations teams.
  • Your focus at first will be on A-STAY Antwerp, with the opportunity to grow with the brand.

Qualifications:

You have relevant experience in hospitality related sales role(s), with a proven track record in B2B sales. You are fluent in English, Dutch and (preferably) French, German is a plus.

  • Business development DNA and be commercial minded.
  • Strong need for achieving goals and success in general.
  • Ability and knowledge to develop standards of operations and strategic processes.
  • Good listening skills and ability to anticipate business needs.
  • Ability to build relationships with 3rd parties and the A-STAY team.
  • Ability to prioritize between revenue generating actions and time consuming tasks with low yield impact.
  • Ability to work across all levels and functions within the organization under own initiative in a high pressure environment.
  • Welldeveloped interpersonal and adaptive influencing skills.
  • Mentality of taking initiatives and responsibility beyond direct duties.
  • High level of motivation, determination and commitment.
  • Knowledge of PowerPoint, Excel, Word and CRM system.
  • Knowledge of hotel technology: PMS, Channel Manager, GDS, CRS, Extranets We are a tech brand, so continuously learning new tools is a must.
