Our client, a leading NGO in the field of development cooperation, is looking for an Accounting Manager.

Description
As the Accounting Manager, you are part of the Finance Department. You report directly to the Director of the Finance Department of the NGO. You are responsible for a team of several employees in Ghent and Brussels. You are responsible for the accounting of the entities.

Your responsibilities:

You manage and supervise the general functioning of the accounting department. You will be responsible for the coordination between the Brussels and Ghent teams to implement the strategy within your department. You coordinate and organize the work with your team members, set objectives with them and ensure that they have the means to achieve them. You are a supportive and motivating team leader.
You will manage all of the organization's accounting operations to ensure compliance with current accounting and tax standards and deadlines for closing the accounts.

You will be responsible for

Defining the general planning of accounting operations and monitoring its implementation;
The production of financial statements;
Planning the audit and justification of accounts with the auditors.
You will support the staff in complex operations and will personally carry out complex analyses of accounts.
You will develop the financing and cash management policy, manage cash operations and conduct negotiations with financing organizations.
You will be responsible for relations with the international entity on all accounting issues.
You will participate in the development and implementation of new financial management systems, including the proper use of ERP (Microsoft Dynamics).

Profile

You have a Master's degree or equivalent through experience.
You have at least 5 years of relevant experience in a management / accounting function.
You have a working knowledge of French, Dutch and English.
You are familiar with the use of an ERP and various reporting tools.
Your strengths include team management, excellent analytical skills and the ability to propose appropriate solutions.
You like a dynamic environment and you know how to manage stress.
