Position description

Responsibilities:

Managing Major/Complex Loss claims handling enquiry; coverage determination, quantum analysis and legal liability assessment, where appropriate.
Ensuring effective vendor and litigation management on large claims within a personal allocation.
Reporting key claims messages to senior claims, underwriting and actuarial management.
Broader internal / external stakeholder communication where required, as casualty technical claims expert
Delivery of technical training to colleagues and external contacts as appropriate
Assist in continuous improvement across the region through support for the Quality Assurance / Regional Audit processes
Timely, accurate and customer focused claim resolution, minimising indemnity exposure and mitigating vendor and legal expense
Adhering to compliance and claims guidelines and playing an exemplary role towards other team members.
Ensuring adherence to best practice procedures for casualty complex claims, consistent with global best practice.

Skills Required- Experience with handling and settling casualty claims, including engaging, monitoring, and managing expertise/lawyers and adjusting/taking control where necessary is a plus- Excellent communication skills, both written & verbal

Language skills:

fluent in Dutch, French and English.- Time management - ability to manage & prioritise workload and diary management.- Ability to deliver technical training to claims handling teams.

- Ability to influence claims stakeholders to effectively direct claims strategy- Experienced in stakeholder management, both internal (underwriting, distribution, actuarial, finance and executive management) and external (brokers, major account clients)- Policy language skills enabling accurate and consistent policy wording interpretation- Knowledge of legal / regulatory and litigation / procedural requirements- Ability to contribute effectively within a team environment
