Beschrijving

From soft drink bottles to packaging trays, from clothing to carpet, INEOS Aromatics makes the chemicals used to produce many of the things we use in our daily lives.

Our main products include paraxylene (PX) and purified terephthalic acid (PTA).

PTA is a raw material used in the manufacture of polyesters used to make fibres, têxtiles, film, and polyethylene terephthalate (PET) bottles.

PX is a feedstock for PTA production. We also produce a number of other specialty petrochemicals products, including metaxylene. We care about how we deliver these essential products to the world. Above everything, the safety, reliability, and excellence in our operations is fundamental to our success. Our progress comes from the energy of our people, a team committed to continuous improvement and excellence.

Head of Sustainability:

Purpose of the job:

The Head of Sustainability is responsible for developing and delivering INEOS Aromatics' European sustainability strategy and driving related organisational and business developments, compliance reporting and related advocacy activities at a regional level.

The postholder will need to engage and lead the wider commercial and manufacturing organisations in a collective effort to deliver the company's sustainability goals, and then leverage this positive story externally to commercial advantage.

Environment & Context:

The sustainability agenda in INEOS Aromatics Europe is driven by both external factors (the rapidly evolving ESG regulatory environment, increasing customer demands for the sustainability agenda to be accommodated in our commercial product offer, and new players and business models disrupting an industry value chain which is moving strongly towards circularity and sustainability) and internal factors (such INEOS' own commitment to reducing GHG emissions by 33% by 2030, and our initiative to develop a novel PET chemical recycling technology ("INFINIA") which will greatly enhance the circularity potential of PET, already the world's most recycled plastic material).

Accountabilities of the job:

  • Take ownership of the Greenhouse Gas (GHG) emissionsreduction roadmap. Monitor and report progress against this roadmap, ensure the roadmap targets are considered in business decision making and define improvement options.
  • Define EU Emissions Trading System (ETS), monitor and forecast.
  • Ensure organizational capability to define, monitor and update Life Cycle Analysis (LCA) and Product Environmental Footprint (PEF) analysis.
  • Monitor and understand the evolving picture of ESG reporting legislation in Europe and the requirements that places on INEOS Aromatics, both in Europe and globally.
  • Business advocacy: Lead on activities and representation at PTA/PET industry associations and INEOSdriven programs. Drive a communications strategy to promote and leverage INEOS Aromatics' positive ESG credentials.

Required Profile:

  • Educated to university degree level (ideally in a science/technical discipline)
  • 10+ years professional experience working in the chemical industry (ideally with exposure to the polyester/PET value chain).
  • Good understanding of ESG topics and circular economy principles relevant to a large petrochemical business, including EPR concepts applicable to the PET industry.
  • Understanding, experience, and capability in LCA development and PEF assessments, as well as GHG emission calculations and analysis.
  • Competent user of Microsoft-Office suite of software (Excel, Powerpoint, Word). Knowledge of LCA software packages SimaPro and GaBi would be an advantage.
  • Strong interpersonal skills including the ability to influence without formal authority, build and lead teams having passion and a shared vision, form solid and effective working relationships and work across different cultures, functions and levels of seniority.
  • Strong analytical and problemsolving skills.
  • Resilience, rigor, drive, accountability, and the energy and desire to get things done.
  • Ability to handle multiple parallel projects/workstreams and balance competing demands on time and resource.
  • Comfortable operating beyond the comfort zone, beyond areas of core expertise, and with a significant level of autonomy.

Offer:

At INEOS Aromatics, you can add value whilst continuing to develop yourself.

You will be able to use your full potential in an inspiring company that places accountability on people where the expectation is to be entrepreneurial with a drive for excellence and improving business results.

Working for INEOS Aromatics means an attractive salary package with an interesting bonus system, flexitime and fringe benefits specific to the chemical sector.
