ABOUT THE COMPANY
Our customer, a newly established Joint Venture, is dedicated to building a network of cutting-edge laboratories throughout Europe.

With operations set to begin in April 2024, this state-of-the-art facility signals the commencement of a groundbreaking endeavor to advance and transform microbiology and molecular diagnostics across the continent.

The Technical Lab Manager will play a pivotal role in establishing and organising a new microbiology and molecular service lab, ensuring its operational readiness by April 2024.

Responsibilities will encompass receiving and processing clinical and industrial samples, managing lab personnel and overseeing the lab's growth trajectory.

Responsibilities and Tasks:

Supervise and actively participate in all laboratory operations, adhering strictly to established procedures.
Manage reception tasks, sample entry, processing, analysis, and results publication.
Prepare microbiological growth media and oversee lab inventory and waste management.
Ensure adherence to quality control measures and incident management protocols.
Maintain lab cleanliness and uphold ISO 17025 accreditation standards.
Manage daily operations and personnel, fostering a collaborative and efficient work environment.
Keep procedures updated and meet laboratory objectives while managing testing costs.
Lead special projects and address technical queries from clients.

REQUIRED COMPETENCES & SKILLS

Masters degree or higher in Biology, Microbiology, Biotechnology or related field.
Proven experience in microbiology, molecular biology, or similar laboratory settings, preferably in a biosafety level 2 environment or higher.
Proficiency in sample reception, preparation, microbiology techniques, DNA extraction, PCR and realtime PCR interpretation.
Familiarity with ISO 17025 standards is advantageous.
Fluent in English, with additional languages such as Dutch, French being beneficial.
Comfortable in a startup environment, demonstrating initiative and dedication.
Strong analytical and problemsolving abilities, with a willingness to learn new methods.
Excellent interpersonal, organisational and managerial skills, with a clientoriented approach.
Effective time and priority management capabilities.
