The Opportunity


Insurance companies are increasingly confronted with risks from new trends and regulations related to non-financial risk management like ESG, cloudification, etc.

In parallel, many opportunities exist thanks to the availability of new tools and techniques that allow insurers to identify and manage those new risk exposures.

At EY Financial Services Organization (FSO) we have a strong Non-Financial Risk Consulting practice. Our dedicated professionals work with the largest insurance companies, helping them in addressing those non-financial risk challenges.

We are currently seeking senior consultants with internal control, risk management and/or regulatory and compliance background in the banking and payment sector to further expand our team


The matters we cover
We help our clients in the following main areas:

  • Defining new operating models that support risk teams to address new risks while leveraging upon new data and technological capabilities
  • Support with risk transformation programs to obtain the desired objectives of risk operating models
  • Support with optimizing risk mgmt. frameworks via GRC solutions, and the use of data (analytics) for proactive risk identification
  • Support with implementing new risk and regulatory requirements via gap assessments, business needs and actionable roadmap.
  • Identify and assess risks within an organization' processes, propose mitigating measures and monitoring approaches
  • Manage projects on risk related topics such as the implementation of an eGRC solution, a risk or compliance function and a Third Party Risk Management Framework
  • Organize workshops with the client's organization to identity pain points, draw analysis and propose remediations for all nonfinancial risks and/or compliance topics
  • Improve the design of internal controls and monitor their effective implementation
  • Support implementation of new regulations, update of existing processes and build a compliance monitoring program to ensure ongoing compliance (e

g:
on general insurance regulation, Solvency II, GDPR, IDD, Sustainable Finance, DORA, CDR, etc.)

  • Assist the 3 lines of defence (business and operations, risk & compliance and internal audit) in their day to day job by performing controls and monitoring activities, identifying pain points and reporting results to the management
  • Help foster a risk culture within an organization (workshops, awareness campaigns, trainings)

What are we looking for?

  • Master's degree in a relevant field, or relevant experience (39 years) in a consulting role and/or within the insurance sector.
  • Experience with risk transformation programs. Project Management certificates are a plus
  • Technological literacy or notification of risk technology, incl. risk platforms (e.g. Servicenow), database management (SQL) or cloud management (e.g. Azure)
  • Knowledge and practical experience in specific regulations applicable to the insurance sector (e

g:
Solvency II, IDD, ESG) is a plus

  • Excellent written and verbal communication & presentation skills
  • Fluency in French and/or Dutch and proficient level of business English
  • Strong team spirit, autonomous, entrepreneurial spirit
