To support our purpose, we have developed a procurement value offering focused primarily on upstream procurement (source-to-contract), strategic sourcing, sustainability, supply reliability and risk management, supplier and stakeholder relationship management, supply market intelligence, procurement analytics and insights and user experience improvement.

The impact of our procurement value offering is enabled by our team of procurement superheroes that operate transversally and in an agile manner according to the principles of our evolved operating model.

Now for UCB to deliver on its purpose to create creating valuable solutions that make improvements to the lives of people living with neurological and autoimmune conditions now and into the future, Early Research and Clinical Development are an instrumental part.

For that reason, the Early Research and Clinical Development is an important spend category at UCB as it enables us to translate insights through science into solutions that enable people living with severe diseases to live their best lives.

The spend in this category is well diversified and includes amongst others Discovery Research, Lab Supplies, Clinical Research Organizations (CRO), Quality and Regulatory.

The increased complexity of research and the strengthening regulatory environment whilst at the same time trying to bring safe, effective, affordable, and differentiated solutions to patients faster are important challenges ahead to which our external suppliers and partners are expected to contribute.

To this extent we are looking to fill the position of Procurement Value Lead, Early Research and Clinical Development
to be based in Brussels, Belgium (preferred) or at one of our other main sites in Slough, UK or Atlanta, US.

You will contribute

Leading a +€500 million category of spend covering the areas of Early Research and Clinical Development
Building solid relationships with UCB stakeholder across the value chain to fully understand their business strategies, challenges needs and requirements
Nurturing and strengthening the relationships with our key strategic partners to build a competitive advantage for UCB and ensure access to innovation
Providing a holistic procurement approach for both Early Research and Clinical Development and developing sound commercial strategies which are well articulated and aligned across the organization
Ensuring we allocate UCB spend intentionally and purposefully by developing and orchestrating an ecosystem of external partners and suppliers that share our ambition and values around environmental sustainability, human rights and diversity, equity, and inclusion
Aligning and providing strategic guidance to Sourcing Managers in the development and execution of sourcing projects relevant to your category
Liaising transversally with other colleagues withi
