The European Union of Medical Specialists (UEMS) is a non-governmental organization representing more than 1.6 million medical specialist doctors in Europe and beyond.

The UEMS primary function is the support and political defence of the medical profession at European level.

The UEMS, through its specialty-based medical divisions (specialist bodies), strives to improve medical specialist training in Europe and seeks to improve the quality of care for European citizens.

To be able to meet the important growth in our activities, we are looking for an
Administrative and Financial Officer to assist with the administrative tasks of the office.

The UEMS office is located Rue de l'Industrie 24, 1040 Brussels in the Brussels European headquarters.


Your responsibilities will be to:


  • Assist with the implementation/upgrade of new procedures,
  • Coordinate daily financial tasks,
  • Maintain the different database upto date in order to keep a digital record of all the financial transactions, supplier information and office expenses,
  • Perform data entry in Bob / Odoo,
  • Order office supplies and update the inventory in order to maintain a comfortable working environment,
  • Reconcile credit card statements, travel expenses and receipts,
  • Control the financial documents.
  • A degree in administrative/accounting studies or equivalent professional experience,
  • 2 years of experience in relevant field is an asset but motivated beginners can apply,
  • An excellent command of French and English (spoken & written),
  • Be reliable, efficient, motivated, versatile and solution oriented,
  • Good organisational and interpersonal skills,
  • Be able to work under pressure,
  • Expert skills in MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint),
  • Be a teamplayer able to work within a small but highly committed and friendly team.

The UEMS is offering:


  • A fulltime contract of employment for an indefinite period (CDI), preceded by a 3month contract,
