Role Overview

Rotating machine specialist

Job Overview and Responsibilities
We are currently looking for a Machinery Equipment Engineer.

Machinery includes rotating equipment (compressors, pumps, agitators, separators, fan, turbines), packages such as chillers and refrigeration units and other special equipment suitable for material transformation.

Machinery also covers mechanical sub-components like bearings and lubricants.

The Machinery engineer is an expert on rotating machine equipment and provides support to develop, buy & maintain Solvay Group Machinery targeting appropriate ergonomics - regulatory compliance - safety and required availability.

Major mission challenges:

Agile and collaborative, you are immediately efficient to enter into multidisciplinary teams to create more value from the assets and develop proactive safety design.
Within 4 weeks, you will be able to write simple machine specifications like pumps, fans or agitators and perform the technical bid evaluation.
After a mentoring period of 2 month, you will manage yourself multiple projects simultaneously and you will optimize the machine specifications in strong collaboration with other disciplines (civil, process, instrumentation, ).
Within 4 months, you will be able to write complex machine specification like compressors, packages, refrigeration units,
Within 6 months, you will play a key role in the knowledge management while proactively integrate the team learnings related to the Machinery Equipment.
Customer focused, you will be able to boost your field expertise while providing support to plants, and your analytical mindset will be a strong competence to solve any problems within the shortest time (from 1 day to 3 weeks for the more complex issues).
On a monthly base, you will create synthetic reports about major activities and you will be responsible to promote progress plan for assets reliability.
