The opportunity


Our growing Global Trade department is currently looking for a French speaking Global Trade Manager to serve our client portfolio in the Brussels / Walloon area.

As a Global Trade Manager, you'll join a globally-integrated team helping leading organizations to operate more effectively in moving goods around the world.

You will be based in Diegem operating within the Europe West Region and collaborating with your global trade colleagues of other EY offices.


You will manage a variety of projects, where you - amongst others - will provide strategic advice to clients to help them manage customs duty costs and manage global trade risks, improve international trade compliance and increase supply chain effectiveness.

Your proactive, pragmatic and integrated approach will help our clients to achieve their potential in today's global environment.


Your key responsibilities

  • Manage a team of dedicated global trade professionals to provide qualitative and pragmatic customs / excise advice to our clients
  • Manage and develop a client portfolio, mainly in the Walloon / Brussels area, by business development activities, project and quality management
  • Build strong internal and external relationships with global trade and indirect tax departments and across the EY network
  • Conduct performance reviews and contribute to team performance
  • Contribute to people and knowledge initiatives, including recruitment and training of global trade professionals
  • Report to our global trade partners

To qualify for the role you must have

  • Obtained a university degree or equivalent by experience
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant global trade (customs / excise) experience
  • A solid understanding of EU and Belgian customs and excise law
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal (French and English, Dutch would be an asset).
  • Proper people skills to manage a team of highly motivated global trade experts
  • The proper motivation to work in an challenging business environment
