    Job Description

    This is a remote position.

    For a Belgian-based customer, we are tasked to recruit a highly talented Senior Tech Lead, Data Collection. As a Senior Tech, your mission is to consult with organizations on critical-to-success data management projects. In this role, you'll tackle the most challenging and complex data initiatives, setting up and implementing architecture and frameworks for massive data processing and clustered computing. Your technical leadership will be instrumental in helping our talented team and customers thrive.

    Your Role:

    1. Architect and Innovate:

    • Design, build, and evolve sophisticated systems for data collection, ensuring reliability and cost-effectiveness at scale.
    • Overcome challenges in data collection processes, driving innovation and efficiency within the team.

    • Take ownership of the technical direction and evolution of the data collection platform.

    Requirements

    • Data Collection Expertise: Extensive experience in designing and implementing data collection systems.
    • Programming Languages: Proficiency in languages such as Python, JavaScript, or
    • Web Scraping: Strong experience with web scraping techniques using Puppeteer, Playwright, or similar tools.
    • Networking and Security: Advanced knowledge of networking principles and security protocols.
    • Infrastructure Experience: Experience with infrastructure management on cloud platforms, ideally AWS.
    • Leadership Skills: Demonstrated experience in leading and mentoring technical teams.
    • Language Proficiency: Excellent verbal and written English skills are essential for effective communication across the team and stakeholders.

    Requirements
    Responsibilities As Senior Data Engineer you will have the responsibilities and skills for a data professional with a broad scope: Architect, Develop, and Deploy Data Applications in the Cloud: Create robust data applications that leverage cloud platforms such as AWS, Microsoft Azure, and Google Cloud Platform. Utilize cloud services to build scalable, reliable, and efficient data solutions. Design Complex Analytics Solutions: Work with large data sets distributed across various systems. Develop sophisticated analytics pipelines that extract insights from diverse data sources. Technology Vision and Leadership: Set the strategic direction for data products or services. Define the technology stack, best practices, and standards for data engineering and analytics. Thought Leadership and Communication: Educate clients and partners about the data analytics landscape. Provide guidance on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices. Team Success and Purpose: Empower technical teams to excel by fostering collaboration, mentorship, and skill development. Instill a sense of purpose and alignment with client goals. Debugging and Process Improvement: Identify and resolve issues within organizations and processes. Optimize workflows and enhance efficiency. Required qualifications The role requires a blend of technical expertise, strategic thinking, and effective communication. Education: Ideally a 5 year Master diploma in engineering or computer sciences. Profile: Excellent analytical skills, able to helicopter view and see the project or product scoping. Excellent mathematical skills and strong with algorithms. Strong communicator who understands team dynamics, able to support where needed and lead when asked. A logical and driven approach to problem solving. Experience: Over 5 years of experience in software development, solution engineering, and technical consulting. Expertise in architecting and implementing new technology and solutions. Coding Skills: Excellent proficiency in languages such as C, Scala, Java, Python, and Golang. Cloud Knowledge: A good understanding of cloud possibilities and limitations in areas like distributed systems, load balancing, networking, massive data storage, and security. Big Data Experience: Familiarity with big data technologies is a plus. Innovative Thinking: Proven ability to think innovatively and inspire co-workers. Leadership Skills: Demonstrated experience in leading and coaching technical teams. Future-Proof Architectures: Developed architectures that are future-proof, even without knowing exactly what the future holds. Language Proficiency: Highly proficient in spoken and written English. Willingness to learn Dutch and/or French. Passion: A genuine passion for cloud and data.
