Warehouse Assistant / Shipping Clerk - Construction Machinery Distribution - N/E Brussels Region, Belgium

€28,000 - €40,000 + benefits (according to experience and industry sector knowledge)

Why this opportunity might be of interest:

The role has come about because the company, a highly successful, global supplier of a particular type of construction machinery, are establishing a new distribution site in Brussels to cover their European market.

The site is brand new, under construction and almost completed.

This role has responsibility for warehouse operation with a strong focus on stock control and shipping administration.

Because of this you'll need to be fluent in English and at least one other European language (French or German would be ideal)


The site is responsible for the safe receipt of complete machinery and parts, and distribution of these to customers across the continent.

As part of a small team you will also assist with customer service from the depot.

Position Description


The Warehouse/Shipping Clerk is responsible for managing the warehouse inventory and all other functions related to the general up-keep and well-being of the warehouse contents.

In addition, the Warehouse/Shipping Clerk will be responsible for unloading and inventorying new equipment and parts, performing pre-delivery inspections, picking, and packing of both parts and equipment shipments, loading equipment on transport vehicles and processing these shipments accordingly.

This individual is also responsible for monitoring and implementing improvements to continually enhance customer satisfaction levels, the goal being to increase parts revenue.


Principal Accountabilities

  • Pulling and packaging parts orders
  • Pull, pack, load, unload finished goods (equipment) and parts on/off transport vehicles for customer deliveries and warehouse receipts
  • Book transport/shipping of new equipment to enduser
  • Perform parts/machine sales shipments and other related transactions in company Enterprise ResourcePlanning (ERP) software
  • Process all dropshipments in company's Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and communicate oncecompleted in Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems
  • Perform periodic inventory cycle counts and participate in the annual inventory cycle count
  • Perform general housekeeping of the warehouse/stockroom
  • Monitor and notify all relevant parties of incoming container shipments
  • Perform predelivery inspections of new equipment upon arrival and update ERP software and related inventory tracking software
  • Perform as backup to Inventory Controller as necessary
  • Communicate order status and inventory discrepancies and shortages to Inventory Controllers and Sales Administration
  • Crate machines as necessary
  • Add or remove machine options as necessary
  • Prepare demo kits for the sales team
  • Maintain inventory of shipping supplies
  • Identify and help resolve problems specific to duties and responsibilities
  • Proactively report issues that may hinder job duties to supervisor
  • Participate in continuous training to achieve a high level of knowledge of all product offerings
  • Liaise with the following departments in the United States (US): Parts, Shipping and Purchasing
  • Ensure a positive customer experience through positive attitude and professional manner
  • Monitor incoming shipments and schedule receipt; communicate needs of those shipments to the rest of the team
  • Work safely in a manufacturing environment and follow all company safety policies and procedures
