Support the definition and implementation of the framework programme to offer:

  • Scholarships for European academic programmes,
  • ESA support to student internships within industry,
  • Sponsorship for participation in conferences, by supporting the development of the related online resources, documentation, processes and tools.
  • Liaise with other ESA departments and with partner organisations (academia, industry, institutes) for the preparation, development and delivery of joint educational and inspirational events such as hackathons, joint training courses, or national/local space related events;
  • Support the design, development and delivery of activities and resources to raise space career awareness and disseminate career information within Europe.
  • Support the development of the online resources and processes to implement "Book a Space Pro" as a framework for learners to gain access to ESA professionals for:
  • Talks or lectures at education-related events and venues,
  • Mentorship or guidance for academic projects,
  • Participation in competitions as jurymembers,
- and other tasks of similar nature.

  • Support the coordination (incl.
preparation, abstract execution and post-processing) of the biennial European Space for Education Conference on space-related education, including support to:


  • Selection process for host city,
  • Interfacing with event organizing company,
  • Programme definition,
  • Venue prospection,
  • Call for abstracts and abstract selection,
  • Participants' sponsorship,
  • Outreach,
  • Coordination before, during and after event,
  • Evaluation of event upon completion.
  • Support the collaboration with the ESA Education STEM and INSPIRATION Unit for the development of the ESA Education Web TV channel (excluding content development);
  • Support new programme elements to be designed by ESA of similar nature;
  • Contribute with expert inputs to the relevant meetings and brainstorming sessions of the Education Office, for the engagement programme in particular, and to the design and implementation of crossunit (STEM-Academy) activities, when so requested by ESA;
  • Contribute to and manage the documentation and databases in support of the above elements;
  • Liaise with ESA Directorates, academia, industry, and institutions to monitor the evolving needs in terms of knowledge, skills and competences within the upstream and downstream space sector;
  • Support the use of available online tools to buildup an alumni community for the ESA Academy programme, and a network of active contributors to the European space education sector;
  • Contribute to the ESA Academy outreach activities;
  • Participate in TEC-X meetings as appropriate;
  • Ensure approvals of all material according to agreed processes.
  • MSC or PhD in scientific area. Specific education in Outreach disciplines is an asset;
  • Mimum 4 years of relevant working experience in a similar field;
  • Proficiency in the usage of communication tools and activities (e.g. social media / Web content / events organisation...)
  • Knowledge of the European academic landscape as well as the space sector (institutional, commercial and/or industrial);
  • Public speaking / moderation;
  • Skills to deal with daytoday operational challenges, together with demonstrated planning and organisational capabilities;
  • Proficiency in writing reports and giving effective presentations;
  • Easiness to operate in international context;
  • Enthusiasm in dealing with the students community;
  • Ability to relate proficiently with stakeholders of different level;
  • Team work attitude;
  • Capacity to produce independently or in isolation whenever necessary
  • Fluent in English, both written and spoken;
  • Knowledge of other European language is an asset;
