We are looking for a strong team spirit Research Scientist to join our Bioinformatics team here in Liège, Belgium.

In this role you will form part of our Epigenetics team and will work closely with our R&D teams and will also be responsible for conducting analyses as part of our service offering to international clients.


Key responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Carry out epigenetics-related analyses from NGS data
  • Manage cross functional projects and coordinate project progress
  • Interact directly with customers and lend scientific expertise in order to understand and assess customer needs, communicate progress, explain significance of results and troubleshoot technical issues
  • Generate professional technical reports
  • Contribute to the set up and improvement of bioinformatics and data analysis pipelines
  • Understand the IT infrastructure and participate in its continuous improvement
  • Drive ideas to improve customer experience and overall efficiency of processes in order to optimize the Bioinformatics team performance

What you'll bring to the role:

  • PhD in Bioinformatics or Data Science with experience in biology, bioengineering, computer science, medical science, statistics or equivalent experience in a related field
  • Experience in bioinformatics programming and statistics (Linux scripting/Bash, R, RStudio and job queueing systems)
  • Experience with NGS data analysis
  • Background in machine learning is a plus
  • Fluent written and spoken English language, any additional languages are a plus
  • Experience in a customer facing role would be a benefit
  • Enjoys working on multiple projects in parallel in a fastpaced environment
  • Excellent communication skills: customers, colleagues and reports
