Established since 1984, they represent leading manufacturers from around the globe and import directly to their African based sister companies who provide extensive local distribution networks and supply chain management.

The company provides its suppliers with production schedules backed by detailed research to assist with production forecasting and planning.

Markets are monitored continuously, and stocks, sales and competition data are analyzed with precision to ensure the best performance of our products.

Their extensive product portfolio includes over 100 varieties of food and non food items, all of which are deemed the benchmark of quality.

As a Supply Chain Director you need to ensure efficient, reliable, and cost-effective supply chain operations within the FMCG industry, including both food and non-food production.

The role requires continuous assessment for improvements and optimization. The main three areas of operations are planning, sourcing & procurement, and freight forwarding.

You main responsibilities as a supply chain director:

  • Leading the company's supply chain strategy.
  • Overseeing the daily workflow and schedules of the department.
  • Contribution to recruiting, onboarding, and training assistants, officers, and managers within the procurement and freight forwarding departments.
  • Conducting performance evaluations, timely and constructive.
  • Collecting & analyzing data to identify supply chain improvements.
  • Suggesting Supply Chain KPIs for reporting and evaluation.
  • Responsable for training team membersand leading by example.
  • Finding costeffective solutions for supply chain processes.
  • Ensuring redundancy plans across all sourcing & procurement areas
  • Ensuring supply chain processes meet food production industry standards.
  • Communication and negotiations with suppliers and vendors to obtain optimal contracts and pricing.
  • Resolving supply chain issues.
  • Monitoring the performance of suppliers, assessing their ability to meet quality and delivery requirements; identifie and qualifie new suppliers in collaboration with other departments.
  • Datamonitoring and analytics to forecast future inventory requirements accurately
  • Ensuring inventories of both raw materials and finished goods are optimal, minimizing or eliminating both stockouts and expiry date issues.
  • Driving continuous improvement using various management methodologies such as lean / kaizen or six sigma
  • Implementing new technologies to improve efficiency in the supply chain process
  • Responsable for alignment with other departments, including sales, marketing, and manufacturing
  • Proactively looking fot the sourcing, testing, and procurement of raw materials for new product development
  • Working as part of a team with marketing and manufacturing departments for product development projects leading from the supply chain side
  • Leading all the processes and activities to supply the materials necessary to manufacture a product, including how, when, where, and what is obtained.
  • Performing other related duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

Required Qualifications:

  • You can look back at 10 years of relevant previous experience as a supply chain senior manager or junior director in foodindustry.
  • You have an excellent knowledge of supply chain processes.
  • You are proficient in English
  • Ability to travel up to 20% of the time for the business.
  • Understanding the basic technical parameters and material compositions of packaging materials such as PET Preforms, Caps, Glass Jars, Labels, Carton Boxes, and Packaging Films,...
  • Experience reviewing product artwork, technical data sheets, and key line drawings
  • Understanding of and experience sourcing various food additives such as flavourings, aromas and starches thickeners, preservatives, antioxidants, and colourants.
  • Experiende in project maangement and using tools such as Asana or Gantt Charts
  • Experience and knowledge of various software systems, including ERP software, transport management software (TMS) including automated planner forecasting
  • Strategic and analytical thinking
  • Strong interpersonal skills include leadership, communication, persuasion, motivation, loyalty, and openness.
