We are looking for a Legal Counsel.

YOUR CHALLENGES
As Legal Counsel, you will be part of the H.Essers Corporate Legal & Insurance department. This professional team handles the group's legal, insurance and claims matters.

In this role, you will promote corporate objectives and compliance with the law by preventively managing legal risks and liabilities, as well as promoting H.Essers' legal certainty.

More specifically, what do you do?

You are responsible for formulating confidential legal opinions to Business Unit Managers on legal risks, the company's (commercial) transactions and liability in order to limit legal risks and optimize transactions.
Your responsibility extends to following up disputes, both judicial and extrajudicial, to defend the interests of the company.
Communication with legal service providers, i.e. external lawyers, notaries, consultants and bailiffs is also part of your responsibility.
As Legal Counsel, you are responsible for monitoring developments in applicable legislation, case law and legal doctrine. You inform your colleagues from Legal & Insurance about this.

YOUR TALENTS

You have a Master's degree in law and your first relevant work experience.
You have a structured and independent way of working which ensures that you keep an overview of your files at all times.
Your accuracy, punctuality and proactivity are indispensable elements to make this role a success.
The frequent contacts with both internal and external stakeholders require strong written and verbal communication skills in Dutch and English.
Like no other, you succeed in translating complex legal matters to the business and act as a reliable advisor.
Finally, as a real teamplayer you contribute to the optimal functioning of our Legal & Insurance department and you establish smooth connections with all stakeholders.
