YOUR TASKS

At least 70% of your assignment will be spent on academic research in the research domain of thermochemical conversion of biomass within a biorefinery context.
You will assist in teaching activities at the Bachelor's or Master's level. You will support the teaching activities within the domains of sustainable chemistry with specific focus on biomass thermochemical conversion, thermal treatment of organic residue streams and renewable resources.
You will counsel students in their exercises, internships, Bachelor's and Master's dissertation.
You will counsel doctoral students.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

You hold a doctoral degree (such as e.g. Doctor of Bioscience Engineering, or Doctor of Chemical Engineering). For diplomas awarded outside the European Union, a certificate of equivalence (NARIC) must be submitted. The degree requirements need to be fulfilled at the start of your appointment.
You have already conducted research within the field of thermochemical conversion of biomass and you have experience with experimental setups from lab to pilot scale within the aforementioned research field.
You have distinguished yourself as a promising researcher in your doctorate.
You are profoundly interested in coaching students in the Bachelor's, Master's and/or Advanced Master's programmes.
You may present relevant scientific publications in (inter)national peerreviewed academic journals that are widely disseminated.
Demonstrable experience in writing research proposals is considered as an asset.
You have good didactic, communication and organizational skills.
Good communication skills in Dutch are considered to be a surplus.

WHAT WE CAN OFFER YOU

Even if you have already been appointed earlier (whether or not at another university and whether or not in the same field of discipline) in a first term of up to three years, you can apply.
The second appointment does not have to be immediately connected to a first term Your appointment will start on 1 April 2023 at the earliest.
