To further establish their footprint on the Belux market, piloting from their offices located in Brussels-Zaventem, our client is currently looking to hire a Key Account Manager Retail.


Your mission:

Reporting to and collaborating with the Country Director and working with a Key Account Manager Retail, a Key Account Manager OOH and a Field Sales Managers, you will be responsible for successful preparation and implementation of the account plans and closing of the annual deals for their own account portfolio in line with the (commercial) strategy of the company.


Main responsibilities:


  • Maintain and monitor the progress of the current (internal) account plans.
  • Develop and implement the annual (internal) account plans including overview of planned activities with consideration of the needs of the accounts and the consumers.
  • Clear annual objectives and result agreements. Completely filled out account plan with output category plan, channel plan and account input is processed.
  • Contribute to the shaping of ambitious and achievable sales targets. (Fixed and bonus conditions, as well as the recommended prices and price increases are insightful to determine the room for negotiation.
  • In collaboration with the County director, define and execute the sales strategy
  • In collaboration with Business Development, contribute to the priority project teams and account team consultations in the area of Category Management and shelf plans and other projects.
  • For own account a designed shelf route/promotion/'signing' route trajectory nd/or an educational trajectory, with which the account plans can be implemented and which contributes constructively to achieving the commercial objective for that account.
  • Create (external) annual plan in which a conversation guide for optimal results of the annual interviews. Concrete Plan of Action in which the figure, the introductions, projects, budgets, frameworks, proposals, brochure campaigns, dealback space and negotiating tactics.
  • Keeping track of all sales activities and expected sales targets in the digital administration.
  • Thorough forecast and activity review on which management decisions can be can be made and used to steer be steered.
  • Identifying improvement opportunities and proposing possible solutions to strengthen your commercial position and implementing these solutions after approval.

Your profile:


  • You hold a Master or bachelor's degree (Commercial Sciences / Business Administration or similar).
  • You have at least 5 years of relevant work experience within the FMCG sector in a retail channel;
  • You have strong negotiations skills
  • Knowledge of the Belgian FMCG and retail market.
  • Autonomously driving the business
  • Fluency in Dutch, French and English is required.
