As a Compliance Officer for Currency Exchange Operations at Ria Envia Financial Services Belgium SPRL, you will play a critical role in ensuring that our currency exchange operations across 8 locations at the Brussels airport and 2 in the center of Brussels adhere to all regulatory requirements and internal policies.

Your experience and expertise will help us maintain the highest standards of compliance with the Financial Services and Markets Authority (FSMA) regulations, anti-money laundering laws, and other relevant legal frameworks.

You will be responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring our compliance programs to ensure operational integrity and minimize risk.

Enhance and implement comprehensive compliance policies and procedures for currency exchange operations, ensuring they meet FSMA regulations and other relevant laws
Conduct regular compliance audits and risk assessments at all locations to identify potential areas of vulnerability and risk; develop and implement corrective action plans
Ensure that all currency exchange operations are compliant with antimoney laundering laws and counterterrorist financing regulations
Prepare and update operational compliance manuals for currency exchange, risk assessments, and training materials for staff across all locations
Serve as the primary liaison with regulatory bodies, including the FSMA, and manage all regulatory submissions, inquiries, and inspections
Lead the development and delivery of compliance training programs for all employees to enhance awareness and understanding of regulatory requirements and internal policies
Monitor changes in legislation and regulatory requirements affecting currency exchange operations, and ensure all business practices are updated accordingly
Collaborate with management and operational teams in Brussles and the Euroepan HQs in Madrid to integrate compliance controls into daily operations and strategic planning
Prepare regular compliance reports for senior management, highlighting compliance activities, trends, and areas of risk
Bachelor's degree in Law, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field. A Master's degree or professional certifications in compliance (e.g. ACAMS) would be advantageous
Minimum of 35 years of experience in a compliance role within the financial services industry, preferably with specific experience in currency exchange operations
Indepth knowledge of the financial regulatory landscape in Belgium, including FSMA regulations, AML laws, and CTF regulations
Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret complex regulatory requirements and translate them into operational policies and procedures
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with regulators, management, and staff at all levels
Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and locations, with a strong focus on detail and accuracy
Fluency in English and French or Dutch is essential
