On behalf of our client Siemens, a global leader in electricity distribution, actively committed to sustainable and responsible energy consumption, we are looking for a Field Service Technician within the Electrification and Automation team, for project study and commissioning, maintenance activities, customer troubleshooting, audits, and training.

Siemens is now seeking a Field Service Technician to join the Electrification & Automation team, whose activities mainly include low and medium-voltage switchboards and protection systems.

As a Field Service Technician, you will initially work side by side with experienced engineers and field service technicians to learn the job and get to know the products in depth. Later on, you will have a hands-on field role, and you will be in charge of installing, troubleshooting, commissioning, maintaining, retrofitting, and repairing medium and low-voltage switchgear equipment and components installed in diverse technical and technological environments (including the industrial and high-tech sectors). You will provide full technical support to the clients as well. Most importantly, you will be continuously trained through numerous online courses and on-the-job.

Key tasks:

• Attend and follow multiple training sessions designed to help you gradually assume and perform your tasks within your hands-on role as a field technician
• At the same time, continuously upskill in order to be able to provide technical support and educate clients on products and services offered
• Develop and maintain a broad understanding of the company's product and service offering
• Perform installation, inspection, commissioning, troubleshooting, and repairs across the medium-voltage and low-voltage product range
• Perform preventive and corrective, both scheduled and unscheduled, maintenance on the equipment
• Perform basic audits of clients' electrical equipment and systems, as well as technical tests, adjustments, and diagnostics
• Perform your work independently or within a team, according to your level of experience; depending on the level of complexity of the intervention, you will always have the support of a product specialist or a more senior field specialist to help you upskill or assist in resolving a possible technical issue
• Analyse malfunctions in equipment and interpret maintenance manuals, using knowledge of systems and electronics to isolate and correct issues
• Advise clients on best practices, new services, and upgrade opportunities, as well as on possible issues and ways to solve them efficiently
• Communicate regularly with the Planning Coordinator for the smooth execution of interventions
• Provide timely reports and perform administrative tasks as required
• Respect and implement all relevant quality and safety measures, policies and guidelines, always putting security first

YOUR PROFILE

• Relevant technical degree in electricity / electronics / mechanics
• Verifiable hands-on technical work experience, or looking forward to learning and actively expanding your knowledge of and experience in electrical engineering
• A good feel for electricity and possibly industrial components; a strong technical base in medium-voltage electrical products and solutions will be a plus
• Client focus and ability to communicate effectively
• Ability to comply with all safety policies, practices, and procedures
• Analytical and troubleshooting mindset
• Ability to work independently, as well as in a team
• Fluency in Dutch or French, and at least a basic knowledge of the other language; knowledge of English is a plus
• Willingness to learn and be trained continuously, invest in personal development in the long term, grow and evolve within the company
