EUROCONTROL
The European Organization for the Safety of Air Navigation (EUROCONTROL) was founded in 1960 by six States. It now has 41 Member States.

EUROCONTROL's mission is to harmonize and integrate air navigation services in Europe, aiming at the creation of a uniform air traffic management (
ATM) system for civil and military users, in order to achieve the safe, secure, orderly, expeditious and economic flow of traffic throughout Europe, while minimizing adverse environmental impact.

The new project new
iNM (Integrated Network Management), is EUROCONTROL's digital transformation programme over the coming years.


MISSION & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Participate in the production of the new INM software design, the development activities and in the implementation of unit and system testing.

The domains that the Software Engineers will cover are multiple; in particular tasks are expected to include the following activities:

• Development, maintenance and support of mission critical systems mainly for the
  INM project.
• Detailed software design
• Implementation (design, code and test) in Ada and Unix shell scripting
• Participate in test automation preparation and implementation
• Write documentation mainly of technical nature
• Test and debug computer program

KEY SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:


Educational Requirements (Essential)

• Higher technical education in Computer Science or Information Technology, or equivalent professional knowledge
• Good oral and written communication skills in English

Skills Required:

• Ability to identify, analyse and solve complex problems, concepts and to present key issues and recommended solutions in a clear, structured and concise way. (Essential)
• Very good algorithmic thinking skills
• Good knowledge of Ada 2012 software design, implementation. (Or the will to learn the language)
• Very good programming skills (C, C++, Pascal, Spark,)
• Unix or Linux: including knowledge of a scripting language.
• SQL and database programming skills
• Cooperates and works well in a team. (Essential)
• Although Ada knowledge is a big asset for this position, knowledge of in depth workings of a computer and complex software is more important. Ability to understand how to efficiently use computer resources is more important than knowledge of Ada syntax.

Ability to work on complex problems and big programs is mandatory. If you can demonstrate this ability then an Ada training course will be set up if needed.
