Environment:


The National Bank of Belgium (NBB) is looking to recruit an enthusiastic and impassioned "Financial Markets Expert" to reinforce its Front Office division (the dealing room of the NBB).


This division, which is part of the Financial Markets Department of the National Bank of Belgium (NBB) has two core central bank responsibilities: the implementation of the Eurosystem monetary policy, including the asset purchase programmes, and the Bank's portfolio management activities.

This job offering concerns a position in the team that implements monetary policy.


Function:

- you contribute to the implementation of the Eurosystem monetary policy
- you carry out transactions in specific financial market segments, in particular on foreign exchange, money market and fixed income markets
- you closely monitor developments in financial markets and report on them
- you perform more in-depth analytical work on financial market developments
- you maintain contacts with market counterparties and facilitate proper institutional use of financial market intelligence
- you are involved in international coordination activities and/or forums, particularly within the Eurosystem.


Profile:

- you hold a Master's degree, preferably specialised in financial economics
- being a holder of a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) or equivalent additional certification is considered an asset
- you have a passion for (institutional) financial markets and are also interested in their operational aspects
- you have a high sense of ethics, integrity, sound professional conduct and honesty
- you have an advanced command of English (level B2) as well as proficiency in Dutch or French (level B1) and a profound knowledge of general IT tools
- you have strong analytical skills, in particular as regards synthetic reporting
- you have excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
- you are a team player who is able to work independently within a solid dealing room team
- you are stress-resistant; you are able to cope with multiple input factors and (short) deadlines.
