The Planning & Analysis (FP&A) Department at the
Regional Hub Europe is looking for a
Business Controller.

The Planning & Analysis (FP&A) department (based in Brussels & Paris and in Rome) is part of Finance within the Regional HUB Europe.

The Regional HUB Europe supports 4 GBU's (Renewables, Energy Solutions, Networks and Thermal & Supply), in 10 countries (Italy, Spain, Portugal, Germany, Poland, Romania, Slovakia, Belgium, The Netherlands & United Kingdom).

The FP&A department has a key role in the European Hub's mission as Business & Performance partner for the GBUs in Europe by providing qualitative FP&A services, contributing to deliver the G&A saving targets as well as optimizing FP&A processes.

This means more specifically:

Provide monthly/quarterly business performance reviews to GBUs
Provide consolidated MTP review by GBU
Together with the FBPs (Finance business partners) of the GBUs, ensure efficient business performance & MTP reviews with the countries
Provide indepth cost analysis
Prepare & organize quarterly review meetings per support functions (Finance, HR, Legal & IT)
Support the G&A performance plan target setting & propose action plans in close coordination with countries & FBP
Monitor, review & execute G&A performance action plans
Coordinate/Perform specific ad hoc performance reviews & financial analysis for the GBUs

Your mission

As Business Controller, you will:

Contribute to providing qualitative FP&A services to one or more GBU operational areas of within Europe (under the coordination of one of the FP&A Leads in the FP&A Department)

And/or

Be actively involved in the support function analysis & the performance plan.

This encompasses the following activities:

Providing consolidated MTP review for the Operational area
Contributing to the monthly/quarterly business performance reviews to the GBU
Participate to business performance & MTP reviews with the countries
Challenging the countries on the figures & their accuracy (eg. Business performance translation into finance, cost optimization efforts,)
Contribute to indepth cost analysis in preparation of quarterly review meetings by support functions
Proposing possible areas of improvement, including action plans to reach performance targets
Coordinate/contribute/perform specific ad hoc performance reviews & financial analysis for the operational area

Your profile
- you have a university degree in Finance, Economics, and/or an MBA or relevant professional qualification.
- you have 5+ years experience in accounting/business controlling. Some experience at operational entity & corp. levels is a plus.

Strong skills in IT Finance Systems or equivalent. Experience in MDT controlling tool is a plus (as well as Smart consolidation tool & ERP systems).

- you are driven by performance, efficiencies and process simplification
- you have a sound business orientation rooted in understanding of value creation levers & cost optimization mindset

Ability to build and update relevant analytical reports.
Rigorous, analytical skills & good organizational and planning skills

Strong in structured business-oriented communication & giving good (written) executive synthesis

Interest in developing knowledge of the business models and challenges of the different GBUs
The ability to communicate at different levels of the organization, across different geographical locations and with people with different cultural background.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Fluent English is a must. French is a plus
