The Vesuvius Flow Control focuses on developing leading-edge core engineering technologies to be used in the continuous casting process.

Supply Chain team creates a competitive advantage for Vesuvius though purchasing, manufacturing and distributing products and services which provide superior value to our customers.

To support our growth we are looking for a Mechanical Buyer.

This specialized buying role involves purchases of machines, equipment and mechanical devices used in production. The role requires a significant amount of technical knowledge and experience in order to purchase the best quality items that fit production requirements, but at the lowest possible price taking into consideration quality requirements.

Your goals

• Send inquiries for materials and services; manage quotation process with registration in SAP.
• Take ownership for daily activities in respect of suppliers including placement and delivery follow-up of the orders in the ERP system
• Negotiate contracts, improve prices and terms of business with suppliers
• Review opportunities to make business savings by utilizing negotiation and procurement best practice tools and methods
• Work collaboratively, negotiate and engage with stakeholders and suppliers regarding new projects design changes and supply chain initiative
• Offer advice on impact of change on purchasing and production activities
• Ensure continuous supply of required goods and materials and communicate any supply problems which may pose a risk or impact on business operations
• Apply sourcing policy, interface between supplier and entity with respect to specifications and budgets
• Track customer orders to ensure deadlines are met
• Collaborate with project managers, workshop, operations, customer service, and quality
• Evaluate suppliers' performance using standardized scorecards

Qualifications

• You have 3 years of experience in a similar position
• You have experience in purchasing mechanical parts
• You can read and understand production plans and technical drawings and blueprints specific to the industry
• You are organized, rigorous, and know how to work under pressure
• You are a strong communicator with good interpersonal skills
• You have a fluent command of French AND English
• Good working knowledge of SAP B1 and Microsoft Office
