Introducing Miss Liberty

His office was clean. His mind well structured. The walls were black. The furniture as well. Elegant in its own way. The city was full of life. His secretary called him once, twice. The third time he answered the phone. He listened to her voice. No emotion. She announced the visitor. A woman. He told her that the woman could enter his office. Free of duty for a while. His golden watch reminded him of the time running quickly that morning. He could not catch it. Even if he would have wanted it. Too strong to be held. Even for one second.

The door opened. The secretary announced the guest. 'Introducing Miss Liberty', she said politely. High heels entered the office. A perfume that gets a gentleman out of balance. That easily. Long hair. A beautiful red dress. Business wise. Sexy. Still. He stared at her. She hold papers. They gave each other a short moment to shake hands. He felt a strange emotion. Out of the blue. She did not say one word. He continued to get a glimpse of her. The secretary told the guest to take a seat. They asked her if she wanted coffee. She confirmed, black no milk, no sugar.

He started the conversation. Presented his business, his company. A positive outlook. Winning awards. Returning profits. Manager of the year. She showed her curriculum vitae. He was impressed. The match seemed right. She kept a distance. He liked it. She was talented. Without any doubt. He asked her to tell more about her long term vision. She gave a wonderful answer. He felt her nose for entrepreneurship. Questions. Answers. An hour gone. He got a call from the secretary. The next candidate had arrived.

She left the office. He recognized something sweet in her voice. He could not forget her. The other candidate was a man. In his twenties. Sales oriented. With a strong will. To do his own stuff. He did not listen well. Always talking about his achievements. Too much. Ego driven. The business owner knew this type of personalities. Ready to burn out soon. Not appropriate. No go. The other candidates were lost. That day Miss Liberty made the best impression. He felt it in his bones. She had what it takes to conquer the world. Inside and outside the company.

The secretary called her back. Miss Liberty expressed her interest to return the next day. He observed her way of walking and talking. Investigated if she could handle big challenges. He was convinced. A great opportunity to start anew. Proposed salary was perfect. She showed her acceptance and joy. Her lip stick yellow orange. Like the sun. Fresh. Stunning. This time she was wearing blue. Designer clothing. He loved her style. She could start next week. Contract signed. With precision. He was happy. She was superb.

Miss Liberty was a genius. She worked hard. Incredible performance. Perfect achievements. Clients were thrilled. They all wanted her. Again and again. She had self-confidence. Charisma. His wife was demanding. She wanted him to spend more time with him, at home. He felt suffocated. He wanted to divorce her. A coward still. Miss Liberty was single. She did not need a man. She loved her own company. A strong personality, thriving on her own. He adored her gestures. Her ideas were gold. Each one of them. He noted down her insights.

One night they had to work longer. Flowers in the office. A scent so charming. His wife left him a week ago. She could not live with him anymore. His heart was broken. He tried to hide it for Miss Liberty. She was working hard. Asked him many questions. He answered them all. Short. Taking deep breaths. She noticed a difference in his attitude. Their eyes crossed the line. Time stood still. Lightning. He could not breathe anymore. She smiled. Sweetness entered the room. He was on fire. Miss Liberty was used to this kind of reaction.

She kept calm. He was out of balance. The scent of the flowers got stronger. Steering the wheel of fortune. Nothing could save them. Even Miss Liberty felt the impact. For the first time in her adult life she understood the real meaning of love. She melted. Those eyes. That body. That voice. 'Oh my God, he is a God', went through her mind. Her heart skipped all the beats ever. She trembled. He touched her hand. He could not control his emotions, for once. The fire in the room was a funny detail. The fire in their hearts was burning. Strongly. He recognised a soulmate. He woke up. His bed was still warm.

She woke up. That morning. She dreamed that her boss was falling in love with her. She was falling in love with him. He dreamed that his wife left him. His wife no longer a part of his world. New scene. At least in his wildest dreams. He was watching the morning news. His mobile phone made a sudden noise. A message. From Miss Liberty. She could not come to the office, she was ill. He felt sad. He decided to stay at home too. The secretary closed the office that day. The next day the scene of dreams happened in reality. The kiss of kisses exchanged. They married soon after that. Love always remains a mystery.
