Role Overview

We are looking for:

As a
Key Projects, Global Partnerships & Value Chain Advocacy you will develop and implement advocacy campaigns in close cooperation with the business across key value chains with companies and industries associations.

Coordinating positions of Solvay on key issues, working closely together with government affairs colleagues in countries across the world.

We count on you for:

Successfully mitigating risks and seizing opportunities (legislative changes and public funding);
Building impactful crossvalue chain advocacy campaigns to influence key decisionmakers
Early and proactive signaling of public policy initiatives and developments that will help the relevant function and GBUs to anticipate the time

This role offers a unique opportunity for you to be part of a growing Solvay family and participate in the transformation journey Solvay is launching in order to further upscale our capabilities.

You will be able to adequately inform relevant GBUs and functions about public policy, legislative and regulatory initiatives and developments, and advise how to mitigate the issue or seize the opportunity.

Support company leadership as a sherpa to key industry associations and global platforms (such as the World Economic Forum).

You will bring:

Master's degree or equivalent in related areas
Background in Political science, Communication, Legal or Economics
Proven experience in government and public affairs (510 years)
Political eagerness and savvy to be able to grasp opportunities, detect risks and anticipate at the right moment
Experience in representing a multinational company and big business interests
Understanding of and preferable experience in industry and trade associations, and adhoc lobby coalitions or campaigns
Wide interest from energy and chemicals to tax and trade
Fluent in at least English and preferably also French
Strong verbal and written communication
Diplomatic and representative
Ability to advise and secure the confidence of key business and functional leaders
