Thales Belgium, which employs more than 280 collaborators, is specialized in the design, development and supply of critical information systems for customers in the sectors of Defense, Security (including Cyber) and Aerospace.

In this context, we are looking for a:

Head of Test engineering

Mission:

Thales Belgium is currently looking for a Head of Test Engineering, who will report to the Head of Engineering.

The Test Engineering department within Thales Belgium s.a. is responsible for the creation of test solutions, communication systems and associated equipment to meet customer requirements.

The Head of Test Engineering will be the link between the hardware department and the production.

Main Responsibilities:

Lead a multidisciplinary test engineering team to validate the performance and reliability of complex electronic systems during product development
Drive the transformation of the department to accompany the development of new businesses linked to after sales / services
Prioritize resources within the test department across multiple programs
Analyze test results as the final authority on the thoroughness and completeness of testing;
Evaluate tradeoffs between test and analysis
Develop test methodology and documentation standards
Day to day management of the test engineering department
Planning & prioritizing the workforce and cost estimation

Profile:

Minimum bachelor degree within electronics
3+ years of board and/or system product validation experience
Knowledge of Labwindows is necessary
Experience with managing teams within a multidisciplinary engineering environment is a strong asset
Ability to quickly understand the design intent and operational requirements of complex systems or subsystems, and develop a plan to test performance and reliability
Can look beyond written requirements, and understand the more nuanced possible failure modes
Have experience designing test fixtures, and carrying out product validation to completion.
Familiar with modern test methodologies and analysis tools
Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to manage and mentor a team of engineers.
