The Global Transportation Platform Leader plays a crucial role in elevating the performance of our global transportation team and systems, including cold chain and passive packaging operations, and orchestrating the global transportation strategy.
This leader is tasked with spearheading change, driving continuous improvement, and leading the development of digital solutions to ensure operational excellence and end-to-end visibility across our global transportation network.
A key aspect of this role involves partnering closely with global teams across GMS and forging true partnerships with our global partners to uphold our commitment to excellence and the customer promise. Central to the success of this role is to cultivate an environment that empowers the team to learn, grow, and positively challenge current processes in support of business growth and performance excellence.
Key Responsibilities :
Develop a work environment that drives and encourages the team to learn, grow, and innovate, whilst taking ownership for the day-to-day performance of global transportation and cold chain operations. Challenge the status quo to foster operational excellence and support business growth. Financial ownership for a global spend of +$80m. Oversee the development and execution of the global transportation strategy, network, processes, and associated activities, ensuring alignment with global logistics goals. Enhance our partnership with the global quality team and external partners to ensure transportation operations comply with all relevant standards and regulations, maintaining the integrity and safety of our products from collection to delivery. Lead the development and implementation of a cost-optimized transportation organization. Foster a culture of innovation through improved processes, data, reporting and analytical capabilities across the global transport landscape. Develop digital solutions to enhance end-to-end visibility and transparency within the order to delivery ecosystem (including sustainability), ensuring a seamless customer experience. Partnering with the global logistics and broader supply chain teams, define, implement, and monitor the overall cold chain strategy, setting goals to measure success. Manage critical relationships across global transportation partners to ensure compliance with SOPs and work instructions. Through effective team partnering, drive continuous improvement projects, and define the right-fit sourcing strategy, whilst ensuring optimization of physical and logistical flows with providers.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, Logistics, Business Administration, or related field. Master's degree preferred. Proven experience in global transportation leadership, focusing on cold chain management and passive packaging. Demonstrated ability to drive change, foster partnerships, develop digital solutions, and lead continuous improvement efforts. Exceptional analytical, negotiation, and problem-solving skills. Strong leadership capabilities, with a track record of building and nurturing diverse and high-performing teams. Excellent collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively across departments and with external partners.
