Join our dynamic team as a _Research Lab Assistant - Decors and Cream _
for our R&D department in Lummen_ _
and immerse yourself in a world of delightful creations. Your mission in this team is to perform lab trials according to well defined procedures, allowing to build scientific insights on new and innovative products under direct supervision of an R&D manager. As a key member of our Research and Development department, you will have the chance to explore and experiment with an array of delicious ingredients, shaping the future of bakery and pastry products.

Key accountabilities

_Research and innovation projects support__ _
_(70%)_

  • You will work on the organization and execution of lab and pilot trials, including sample preparation, followed by lab analysis and evaluation of the tests.
  • You will bring attention to detail as you follow existing recipes and processes diligently, maintaining the highest standards of quality and consistency.
  • You will conduct clear and accurate reporting of results.
  • You embrace the opportunity to contribute to the evolution of our recipes and methods, aligning with project requirements and new technological advancements in the sector.
  • You will be in charge of shelf life followup, prepare samples for shipment, and coordinate the sending of samples.

_Co-responsible for daily operational lab and pilot area management and administrative tasks__ (30%):_**- You will ensure fluent operations and maintenance of the lab and pilot area by ordering and collecting raw materials on time, managing packaging materials, and cleaning devices.

  • You are coresponsible for safety, quality, and technical excellence in the lab and pilot area, along with your peers.
  • You will create Standard Operational Procedures for the lab and pilot area, ensure implementation, and keep them uptodate with all procedures.
  • You will support lab administration by completing proper documentation on raw materials, formulations, and technical specifications of finished goods.

Who are we looking for ?

  • You have completed a bachelor degree in food chemistry, food technology or nutrition and dietetics or a program with relevant experience (R&D, food technology).
  • You are well organized and flexible and you like to work in a team, while having a hand's on mentality. You have a real interest and passion for innovation and development in the food sector.
  • A good knowledge of English and Dutch is important for internal communication and reporting.
