Chemours is seeking a Finance Controller to join our growing Finance team This position will be located in Belgium and will report directly to the Global Statutory Reporting Leader located in Belgium.

The responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Provide oversight over finance close activities, ensuring seamless delivery to stakeholders and proactive advice across all of Finance and its functions.
  • Support business decisions by verifying statements and reports for accuracy and investigating discrepancies when identified.
  • Accountable for the quality and the accuracy of the financial statements of the legal entity, in both local GAAP as required by local authorities and US GAAP for consolidation purposes.
  • Establish and maintain responsibility for corporate compliance with accounting rules and regulations, SEC reporting and compliance, incl. tax and tax accounting.
  • Oversight review of a system of internal control processes and procedures to enable compliance with regulations, ensure the accuracy of financial records and safeguard company assets.
  • Provide consistent and collaborative approach to resolving business need through accounting competencies and responsible for interpretation and communication of accounting policies and practices, establishment and enforcement of internal controls in the country.
  • Prepare and present adhoc financial reports to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ensure timely and accurate completion of all financial reporting requirements.
  • Build and maintain superior relationships with our Center of Excellence in Asturias (Spain) and US Corporate Finance function, as well as with external stakeholders including auditors, tax advisors and tax authorities.

_required_ for this role:

  • CPA, Chartered Accountant or similar certification and/or Master's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field
  • 5+ years of experience in a finance/accounting role, with a minimum of 3 years in a senior finance position
  • Strong knowledge of US GAAP, local GAAP and related compliance incl. tax laws and regulations
  • Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization and more specifically to Business Service Centers or Business Process Outsourcing
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, with advanced skills in Excel and financial software
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in Flemish, English and French.

  • SAP experience (R3, S4) is a plus
  • Knowledge of other European language is a plus.
  • Experience in Audit firm is a plus
  • Working experience with centralized Service Center is a plus.
