Your Profile:

  • You have a European EEA citizenship. (not requiring a visum to work in Belgium)
  • You must be a student for the entire duration of the internship
  • Open personality and able to work independently in a multicultural business environment.
  • Fluent in English (reading; writing; speaking)
  • Able to summarize and explain complex technical information in a clear and visual way.
  • Working proficiency in MATLAB (must), Python (must)

Your team and your responsibilities:


As part of TME R&D organization, the Powertrain Division is responsible for local development of powertrains for vehicles built in one of the TME production plants, and for planning and research of new European technologies.

Latest focus points include electrification, big data and connectivity.


Your project:

With increasing electrification and the move towards autonomous driving in the car industry, it is imperative that the cars of the future are smarter.

Virtual sensing helps remove hardware to reduce vehicle costs and the risk of failures. Several data-driven models are ready to be deployed. Your project is to implement one of these machine-learning models in a vehicle. You will also be involved in the validation activity to meet the required performance.

With the support of Powertrain Connected and Electronics team, you will undertake the following tasks:


  • Analyze performance and accuracy.
  • Develop and standardize the process for future model deployment.
