Thales Belgium SA, Belgium competence center of Thales, is a company located on 2 sites, one in Tubize (near Brussels) and the other one in Herstal (near Liège).

Thales Belgium, which employs more than 280 collaborators, is specialized in the design, development and supply of critical information systems for customers in the sectors of Defense, Security (including Cyber) and Aerospace.


Mission:

The Product Lifecycle Manager ensures the readiness and availability of product manufacturing data. He plans and monitors all activities linked to engineering change for obsolescence management, quality increase or cost optimization.

He has to manage transversal employees with wide scope of competencies:
Product Policy, Engineering, Industrialization, Operations, Bids&Projects, Quality, Procurement, Customer Support & Service,... He coordinates and monitors the execution of changes from development, verification and validation up to industrialization.


The Product Lifecycle Manager ensures the product environmental regulatory compliance, and more globally improving environmental performances on the full life cycle of the products; through eco-design deployment among others, and taking into account Thales HSE (Health, Safety, Environment) strategy, policies and objectives.


Main Responsibilities:


  • Maintain and communicate product change status from "In Development" to "In Production".
  • Coordinate product change execution through different departments.
  • Be in contact with suppliers to understand their roadmaps and to coordinate on nonconformity cases.
  • Ensures regulatory compliance of products (eg: hazardous substances, ecodesign, energy, dismantling and end of life management ) with high HSE stakes for the product.
  • Collaborate with technologists to define substitution work to perform when needed.
  • Ensure relevant HSE information is available to all functions working on product, bid/project or service, including regulatory HSE topics and ecodesign.
  • Identify the need, cobuild or customize, and deploys relevant training when necessary, to all functions working on product, bid/project or service, including regulatory HSE topics and ecodesign.
  • Manage entity ecodesign strategy and drive deployment of related practices and tools.
  • Identify, assess and control supply chain robustness, obsolescence and HSE risks.
  • Raise any alert when needed.
  • Collect and analyze operational indicators, assess results and suggest improvements if necessary.
  • The Product Lifecycle Manager reports to the Design & Configuration Team Leader.

Profile:


  • Engineer degree or Master or equivalent
  • Minimum 5 years experience in a technical and/or operational area
  • Proficient in basic regulations and environmental standards
  • Proficient in chemical regulations impacting products and substances traceability
  • Technical knowledge in electronics is a plus
  • Ecodesign techniques and ecodesign regulations
  • Life cycle analysis
  • Circular economy and recyclability
  • Selfmotivated, taking ownership and driving topics to fulfill company mission
  • Good interpersonal and good communication skills towards stakeholders
  • Fluent in French and proficient in English
