The Expertise Center Global Market Analysis (GMA) and the Business Platform Short Term Power as a Service (BP SPAAS) are looking for an experienced regulation and market design advisor (RMD advisor).

GEMS is at the heart of ENGIE's power activities. It's providing hedging solutions for renewable, thermal assets and downstream customers. Our objective is "to accelerate the energy transition through market solutions". Today, we are managing a wind and solar portfolio of 6 GW including 3.5 GW in Germany. The ambition now is to reach excellence on renewables energy management through systems, models and risk management expertise.

The electricity system has been drastically changing over the last years: more and more intermittent renewable generation, new market players, evolving role of system operatorsAt the same time, the European electricity markets are integrating at a fast pace, driven by European legislative initiatives.

Achieving a truly European, efficient electricity market is a real challenge and covers the correct implementation of Market Network Codes, existing and new electricity regulations and directives.

The Power Regulation team, within the EC GMA, manages the European regulation of the electricity markets impacting GEMS activities and, in particular, the asset portfolio optimization and the trading activities.

The Power Regulation team is responsible for establishing the GEMS positions, champion it internally and externally, and persuade external stakeholders in order to promote optimal market functioning.

The Power Regulation team thus covers upcoming (decided or considered) changes to the market design; compliance to the current market rules is not part of the RMD team, but situated elsewhere in the organisation

The RMD team is a small team, working with trust, collaboration and team spirit. Each advisor is working in full transparency and close cooperation with other members.

Flexibility is a key asset to quickly onboard new elements or priorities and support fellow team members in ongoing files.

Key missions

  • Analyze the upcoming modifications/updates of the regulatory framework impacting GEMS activities and ensure relevant teams are aware of upcoming regulatory evolutions;
