- Support, and in a second phase lead, the organization of EHS in Mechelen, allowing all employees and guests to work in a green, safe, innovative, and efficient environment that respects relevant local laws and regulations, as well as corporate policies.
- Advise and support senior management in Mechelen on issues related to the well-being of employees, occupational safety, health protection, psychosocial aspects, ergonomics, occupational hygiene, and environmental issues.
- Manage and perform appropriate risk assessments and work proactively to avoid risk situations in Mechelen.
- Manage, maintain, and support emergency response plans and first aid support in Mechelen.
- Coordinate the investigation of any EHS related incidents and ensure lessons learnt are adequately cascaded.
- Support the development of a corporate ISO-compliant Environmental, Health and Safety Management System, and lead its implementation at the Galapagos site in Mechelen.
- Support Galapagos' Corporate Social Responsibility strategy, (initially) focussing on the aspects Wellbeing and Building-Related Eco-footprint.
- Support the certification of relevant Galapagos assets according to international standards such as BREEAM and WELL.
- Organize corporate initiatives aimed at improving environmental, health and safety awareness and engagement amongst Galapagos employees (such as celebrating the United Nation's World Environment and Safety days).
- Able to work in an hybrid way (3 days/week in the office)
