Main Responsibilities

Responsibilities:

  • You supervise and assist the residents in their daily lives and establish an educational framework
  • You welcome new arrivals, enforce the living environment rules, manage group dynamics, ensure adherence to schedules, monitor room cleanliness, organize activities, and assist in meal preparation.
  • You organize, lead, and supervise educational, creative, cultural, and sports activities both within and outside the Transition House.
  • You maintain order and calmness, providing a structured and secure living environment, including safety, room checks, conflict prevention and management
  • You provide more individualized support for the residents, building trustbased relationships, supporting their personal projects, and promoting autonomy.
  • You provide coordination between the residents and other services, participate in teamwork aimed at their wellbeing and contribute to problem resolution
  • You assist in the settlement of new arrivals (hygiene kits, room allocation, explanation of Transition House, operations, etc.).
  • You conduct monthly assessments of each resident, in collaboration with colleagues.
  • You participate in multidisciplinary meetings.

LEVEL OF EDUCATION

  • A high school diploma or professional bachelor's degree in Education or a related field.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

  • A minimum of 8 years of relevant experience in a similar social care environment with a bachelor's degree, and a minimum of 10 years without one.
  • Proficiency in conflict resolution and mediation techniques
  • Training in crisis intervention and deescalation strategies for handling volatile situations
  • Ability to independently address and resolve problems, seek alternatives and implement solutions
  • Basic knowledge of MS Office: Word, Excel, etc
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Patience, empathy, and the ability to work with individuals facing challenging circumstances
  • Ability to work as part of a collaborative team
  • Fluency in French, with proficiency in other languages being an asset
