Smart energy models in the hot strip mill
The objective of the internship is to develop reliable energy models to compare with the actual consumed energy. Differences between the predicted and the measured energy could highlight anomalies in the process. Multiple model strategies can be chosen, i.e. mathematical models, machine learning, neural networks etc. At this moment, the energy consumption model is completely independent of the production process, which results in unreliable predictions. The aim is to increase the 'intelligence' of the energy models by means of combination with the process data.


Objectives:

  • Development of reliable models to predict energy deviations
  • Combine energy measurements with process data

Expected competences:

  • Python
  • Basic knowledge of data science
  • Basic knowledge of machine learning/neural networks (not necessary)
