Communications Assistant (Paid Internship)**
BACKGROUND
EURACTIV is an independent pan-European media network specializing in EU policies. Our primary goal is to ignite and facilitate policy debates among stakeholders, including government, business, and civil society.

We provide comprehensive coverage of policy processes leading up to decisions, presenting the issues in a neutral manner without taking sides.

The EURACTIV Network offers localized EU policy news in 13 languages. Through collaboration with our media partners, we reach over 1.7 million users across Europe and beyond every month.

With 2.5 million page views and over 1 million unique readers per month, EURACTIV is a leading online media platform specializing in EU policy.

We strive to engage 80% of our readers in their own language.

RESPONSABILITIES

  • Social media coordination_
  • Coordinate EURACTIV's social media presence across channels (including Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn and YouTube), working to repurpose our content for each platform to increase engagement and reach.
  • Monitor our social media channels and communications inbox to ensure responsiveness to reader questions and comments
  • Work closely with the events managers to promote our policy events and increase engagement of participants via live tweeting
  • Reporting and analytics_
  • With training, provide timely and relevant viewership reports using digital reporting tools, (Google Analytics, Piano, Sprout Social, native analytics)
  • Ensure that client deliverables are met in terms of social media outreach and events communications; be agile in reporting on social media impact.
  • Audience development_
  • Run marketing campaigns (with manager support) to increase EURACTIV's social media followers and newsletter subscribers
  • Contribute creative ideas to grow the quality and reach of our digital distribution efforts of our articles, newsletters and multimedia content via free and paid channels
  • Contribute ideas to support the growth of our audience.

PROFILE
You are an avid media consumer and enthusiastic digital communicator that is willing to learn paid content distribution.

You know your way around several social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn etc.) and tools that automate posting, and are excited to learn more.


  • You have some knowledge of EU institutions, policymaking and media
  • You're adaptable and able to continually analyse, problemsolve and navigate the everchanging digital space.
  • You're hardworking, a teamplayer, based in Brussels or willing to relocate.
  • You're fluent in English (written and spoken) and a strong writer.
  • Knowledge of French and German is highly desirable.
  • Knowledge of other European languages is always a plus.
  • Experience with Wordpress and an eye for good design are similarly desirable.

EURACTIV offers:

  • 6 months to one year contract under Belgian law (CIP). Paid internship. First 6 months, salary of 977'5€. Second 6 months, salary of 1.200€.
