Plant Manager Food:

Supply Chain & Operations Management IBrussels Area I40 uur

Our client is a Belgian company leader in the food sector.

To support their growth, the company is looking for a Plant Manager to pilot the slicing/packaging site of specific food products.

As a strong and respectful people manager, you lead the department where approximately 200 employees work together. You manage a group of heads of departments.

You determine the strategy and objectives for your department together with the general management to implement this strategy. You do this both quantitatively and qualitatively.


You determine the best organization and working methods in the short and long terms, in accordance with the Group's values and standards.

You can easily work in a matrix environment where Maintenance, Quality Control, Warehouse departments are all centralized. You are good at building, developing, and maintaining close collaboration with other departments' heads.

Specific challenges

  • Increase & stabilize the efficiency of the packaging lines & increase the total output
  • Implement the new program of production planning

Function description

  • Oversee production planning and management activities within the organization.
  • Develop production plan, budget, and timelines according to production specifications.
  • Determine production requirements based on plant capacity and production specifications.
  • Plan workflow and schedules for the production department.
  • Monitor production status and ensure timely delivery.
  • Identify delays and accordingly adjust schedules to meet deadlines.
  • Assist in production risk assessment and mitigation activities.
  • Evaluate current production processes and recommend improvements.
  • Assist the project team dedicated to the construction of the new packaging plant
  • Conduct daily meetings to keep track of production schedules.
  • Ensure that finished products meet quality standards and customer specifications.
  • Determine equipment, materials and manpower required to complete production.
  • Resolve production issues and escalate unresolved issues to management promptly.
  • Assist in employee hiring, training, performance evaluation, retention, and termination activities.

Job requirements

  • Master's degree preferably engineers, complemented by at least 7 years of experience in a managerial position
  • Proven experience in Production/ Packaging environment
  • Excellent knowledge of production planning and quality control principles
  • Working knowledge of MS Office and ERP systems
  • Strong organizational and problemsolving skills
  • Excellent communication abilities
  • Strong interpersonal skills combined with strong analytical skills
  • Team player who works proficiently with people from other departments.
  • Hands on manager who likes to get in on the ground floor in the heart of the operations
  • Working language is French & Dutch

Offer
Interim management for 6 months with the possibility to continue with permanent contract
